ok, only reason im writing is this, if you have a friend ,family member,or other loved one who is obese (fat), please, encourage them to do something about it. If it was just a matter of choice, or society's standards of whats pretty, sexy, etc., I wouldnt say a word, but the reality is that obesity kills. I had a family member, high-blood pressure, who if they would have listened to their doctor and lost weight would still be alive today. So please, if you have an obese loved one then please tell them. Don't be an enabler and end up having to bury them way before their time. thank you for reading.
mods-if this is in the wrong forum, please move it,thank you. meant to put it in general.

Im sexy and i know it!!!
560 LBs of pure sex machine come at me ladies.
The truth may be puzzling. It may take some work to grapple with. It may be counterintuitive. It may contradict deeply held prejudices. It may not be consonant with what we desperately want to be true. But our preferences do not determine what's true.
Carl Sagan-
seriously friend, I mean no harm by my post, just the opposite, and I sincerely hope you are "not" 560
no I am not, but obese status will change with generations because it came along with generations of fast food.

Carl Sagan-
true, but all the best science we have says obese is killer-and when a doctor informs you how a loved one who just died would not have "if" they had dropped the weight well, it is a strong wake-up call. We use to think good ol' Uncle Dave was just this happy go lucky guy who never met a calorie he didnt like. We all loved him. The reality is we should have loved him better,by encouraging him to lose the weight and live.
Not fat - Big boned
Never insult large people this close to the zombie apocalypse .
Here I was expecting that this would have been a "GW2 makes you lose weight irl" thread V_V
My brand new bloggity blog.
define what you consider being fat!
people can be over weight and be ore healthy then a slim one, also remember one thing, people don't like being told what they should do, most of us already have to do it with his boss and his wife, so anyone else will get the burn for all things who was bottleded.
in any case nice troll bait
Eh people..
The reality is you're going to die anyway.
Live in peace, be a good neighbor, don't be a douchebag, and eat any god damn thing you want.
Or..
Get healthy because you want to.
Being driven by fear or by the plea of others just leads to anxiety, and anxiety kills as well.
So be fat, be merry, may your cup over flowth. Otherwise you'll have wasted your minute amount of time on this Earth being someone else's bitch.
I used to play MMOs like you, but then I took an arrow to the knee.
If you really want to help them: try to figure out why they love eating so much. From my experience, many of the overweight people I've talked with do so because that is one of the few happy moments they have everyday. The meals is the highlight of their day and they want to prolong that good feeling as long as possible.
Maybe they feel alone?
Maybe they feel a strong remorse over something?
Maybe someone in their daily life is really affecting them in a bad way?
Maybe they feel shame over something or even themselves?
Maybe they feel like they have no control in their life and the meals is one of the few places where they got control?
Maybe not eating "enough" food is actually giving them withdrawal symptoms which is very unplesant for them?
Once you've decided to ask this kind of personal questions, I think it is important that you stay committed and just don't run away and leave the overweight person alone. It becomes a responsability and an important such.
I do think its pretty sad that obesity has gotten so bad in this country that some clothing manufacturers use a different scale of sizing for shipments headed to america so as to not make americans feel so bad about being so large. Of course it is embarassing when they sometimes make a mistake and i have to explain to customers as to why there "xl" sized item says 4x on the manufactuers tag which basically involves me lying to the customer about it so as to not risk offending them.
Yeahi it's a shame. Now you can go clomping back to your space stable.
Thank you for this post, OP.
I was looking for some GW2 news and finally something got posted in here. Maybe this means that we will soon hear a release date!

You have a point.
More food, more game, less outside, less moving.
Guild Wars 2, you will be my most lustful demise.
I used to play MMOs like you, but then I took an arrow to the knee.
Well I'm disappointed.
I thought this was going to be some news on a new feature for GW2; a mini-game of sorts to allow your toon to lose weight, if needed.
Certainly the, *ahem*, larger-than-life toon models in TOR could use a feature like that.
It is easy to temporarily suppress unpleasant ideas and thoughts. A such one is the knowledge that it would be better to live a bit healthier for both your sake and the sake of your family and friends. The plea of others serves as a reminder. To just escape from problems may very well end in an exploding bomb later in life.
Sure, the starting steps may feel horrible, but the end-result isn't.
In fact, you can still be healthy and eat everything that you want, but to reach that you need to build a lot of muscle mass so that your body naturally burns a lot of energy.

Being a nag should get you shot.
That way the immediate danger should help make society better over all.
I know people who use their skinniness / working out as much as a way to suppress feelings as fat people who use burritos or druggies who use heroine.
Point is; it doesn't matter. In the long run it doesn't matter.
Be fit for a reason that's personal. Otherwise it's pointless.
Fact is, this topic is pointless. A long life lived at the sake of keeping someone from bitching at you is no life at all.
I used to play MMOs like you, but then I took an arrow to the knee.
If medicine's definition of obese wasn't ethnocentrically biased, then it might mean something. Different races are always goign to have different tendencies toward different body masses, but the class of people that runs medicinal science can't seem to comprehend that, and would rather attempt to force everyone to be the exact same proportions.
Like some weird, homogenized real life version of a video game universe.
lol if you consider that being a myth or urban legand you are a fool or a really good troll, still you need to define what is what, and if to taht person is really bad, I saw people who everyone conisder fat have more health then a slim one, several times
, but hey you can fool yourself if you think its will help you feel better, but only thing I can see here is you in a defensive stance already.
Doesn't this thread belong in the GW2 forum?
We're all Geniuses. Most of us just don't know it.
to be honest its very hard to get people to work out. my sister is by no means obese but it took her 8 years to start working out...maybe even more. shes 5'2, and about 140lbs. i don't think that is obese but still. i think its more than just trying to motivate someone or push them, but you have to go with them. it wasn't until i took my sister to the gym and started going with her, that she started going. well after i left hong kong since i interned over there, my sister quickly fell thru and stopped going to the gym. if you really do have a family member that is overweight, its better for you to start going with then instead of just telling them to, think that will help the most.
