Quizz,

ok this is the system I got, and I already know, I should have got  an intel system, but I want to keep the mobo/case & stick w/ AMD, but I wanted to know what you would upgrade right now if you had to play with this system. I have been having probs with the radeon card( lines/artifacts playing wow and swtor) when I max out the oc on the card, when i go back to defaults it doesnt happen and I still get the same 60 fps on wow on ultra settings, but have to play swtor on lowest settings of I get these blue artifacts. I have update all drivers btw also.

That said here is my system:

I was thinking  to yank the radeon 6850 by Powercolor and get a MISI  GTX 570 for now. When windows 8 comes out next year, upgrade to that and at the same time add a SSD HD and wait it out to see if AMD comes with a better AM3+ chipset. My budget for now is no more than 500 on an immediate upgrade.

Thanks.

"POWERSUPPLY: 700 Watts - XtremeGear SLI/CrossFireX Ready Power Supply"

There's a pretty good chance that that's the real underlying problem.  One of the major reasons to always get a good power supply is that a bad one can damage hardware.  And the one you've got is awful.

After that, I don't like overclocking video cards, as unlike processors, they tend to already be clocked fairly close to their limits.  A Radeon HD 6850 is the low clocked bin of Barts, so it probably has some overclocking headroom, but pushing it to its limits is still a serious risk.  A bad power supply makes the risk much worse than it would otherwise have been.  It sounds like you've probably damaged the video card.

Whether the video card is under warranty or not, you're really going to need to replace the power supply.  Here are a couple to consider:

For what it's worth, if you fried a card by heavily overclocking it with a bad power supply, that's the fault of neither AMD nor PowerColor.  Any modern gaming video card would be at a serious risk of dying if you do that.  You can switch to Nvidia and MSI if you like, but that won't protect you against that sort of user error.

Thanks quizz, I'll change the ps immediately as well as the card.
