It looks like you're new here. If you want to get involved, click one of these buttons!
But I can't because I haven't experienced enough to do so.
So I'll review the CE instead.
Holy crap this thing is huge! The UPS guy gave me the stink-eye when he dropped it off. When I opened the box, my first thought was "wasted space". The statue takes up the dead-center of the box and it's flanked on two sides by all of the other content. Later I reallized that the box is roughly the same size and shape as the in-game datacrons. Clever!
The statue is very well made and might be better than my Arkham City Kotobukiya Batman (but I like Batman better than any Darth). It is well packaged in formed styrofoam, tucked into its own box so you could remove it from the CE box and still display it in it's own box without risking too much damage.
The map is a thick, glossy poster with all of the playable planets listed and located. It's kinda dissapointing in that, even though all of the currently visitable planets are there, some of the playable species come form other worlds and I would prefer it show those locations as well. However, that might make the map either too large, or too small to read. Though maps are always appreciated, this one just doesn't do much for me.
The soundtrack comes in a flimsy cardboard "sleeve" that, though well decorated, is still just a paper sleeve. The tracks are nice until you get to the technopop at the end. Everytime someone tries to recreate the infamous Cantina Band Song, they just fail.
Account authenticator. This is the first one of these I've used, but I do think it's a brilliant idea. I'm not sure if these things are keyed to specific games, but it'd be cool if I could register this for all of my games that use them. I know people with multiple authenticators which I find bothersome.
The game itself is tucked into a very nice steel-case, ummm, case with classy embossed republic and sith emblems on either side. The soundtrack should have been in here too, IMO. There are some standard paper-fodder in here as well as a 30$ off coupon from Gentle Giant.
Stored on the other side of the statue is the record of Master Gnost-Durall. This book is fantastic. It includes all of the lore stories that were released on the website prior to launch. However, they are also annotated by Master Satele Shan which gives a sweet little flavor addtion to the stories. There are also some stories here that I don't reacall being on the website. Also, tucked into the book, are layout drawings of the Jedi Temple and the Sith Temple as well as a "copy" of one of the pages from the Treaty of Corusant.
The in-game items are fluff and nothing more, in my opinion, than space wasters. The mouse droid has become a status symbol it seems. The vehicle will be very cool once I get high enough level to use it. The dancer and flare gun might make good RP items, and I haven't tried out the targeting droid thingy. The CE shop has very expensive fluff in it. I didn't see one single thing in it that I would purchase.
All-in-all, its quite the CE. Expensive, maybe even too expensive. I can't put it with my other CEs because it is too big for my desk, but it isn't the only one I have that has to be away (the Killzone 3 CE is rather bulky as well). Normally, I'd dock big points for not having an artbook, this is a must-have for me. However, the Journal is a nice touch and I've not seen this done before so that almost makes up for it. You'd think with how well done the WAR artbook was, TOR would have followed suit.
Pros:
Meta-designed, well decorated box
High-quality statue
Authenticator
The Journal
Steelbook case
Cons:
Flimsy case for the soundtrack
Map should be more detailed
Cost
No artbook
Final score: 9/10
Deducted 2 points for no artbook, 1.5 points for cost, .5 point for map, .25 for soundtrack case.
Added back .5 point for Steelbook, 1 point for the journal, .25 points for the Authenticator, .75 for the statue and .75 for the meta-box.
I want a mmorpg where people have gone through misery, have gone through school stuff and actually have had sex even. -sagil

Meh, the CE is nothing new. Same old, same old. No innovation, and only requires one person to open it. Not massive enough for a CE. Also, it's too linear and has too much hand-holding on how to open the box.
I give it a 5/10. I miss my SWG CE. And I bet the GW2 CE will be way better. Apparently, ArenaNet will be releasing a dynamic CE that changes every time you open it. That's innovation, folks.
Clever. I think CEs are the biggest marketing scam ever created. $40 worth of crap for how much?
A sure sign that you are in an old, dying paradigm/mindset, is when you are scared of new ideas and new technology. Don't feel bad. The world is moving on without you, and you are welcome to yell "Get Off My Lawn!" all you want while it happens. You cannot, however, stop an idea whose time has come.
Best. Post. Ever.

Don't forget the fact that the GW2 CE will completely revolutionize the way we look at CE's
LOL awesome!
Currently playing SWTOR and it's MUCH better than it was at launch.
Have you even bought the CE? Its like you looked at its picture and formed your opinion off of the picture. my friends and I all love the CE. Even Bob from work loves it, and hes not normally the CE type.
Best CE since Vanilla WoW
You hit the nail on the head. I've been playing these things for years and used to always buy the CE until I realised what a load of old nonsense they are. I quite literally have a pile of them in the attic - including the WoW BC box which I paid £silly for on E-Bay.
Just buy the standard edition and enjoy the game...
TOR ce will serve the same purpose as my FF14 CE in a few months. The FF14 one makes a great drink holder because of the pastic sleeve.
