I'm, starting to see a trend in the names. Dawn, Awakening.. what is next, Arising? It is funny to see how they boast about patching some of the base features in as expansion, but whatever works I guess.
I for one am glad however, I get to say "What was it I told you". You cant avoid auction houses, no matter how much you argue for "hardcore" mechanics. Welcome to real world outside of delusion.

thought it would be Dawn, Awakening and then Realising as in they realise after all these attempts to fix the AI they cant.
Im still subbed but Im REALISING ive heard all of this before.
Annoying overhyping language and cheesy naming ("dawn" and then "the awakening". really? :P) aside, this looks like more or less exactly what's needed, IF they can pull it off properly and not half-ass the features in.
Have to say i'm surprised, i didn't expect them to aim for so much so "soon".
"The Awakening is the second complete expansion to be released in less than 2 years"
I would not count Dawn as completed. And I would not call basic core features an expansion I would call it Core Features. We all know how EPIC/DAWN/TC worked out who thinks this will be the same?
Also player written books and notice boards were supposed to be in DAWN. Whatever happened to the breeding system that was supposed to be in right after Dawn?
expansion or patch, who really cares tbh its a free patch either way. (and obviously should be free). Its really to early to say anything about it other than the proposed features look way better than dawn expansions did. Dont recal player written books being in dawn. Prehaps notice boards though.
Anyone else getting a very skyrim feel from the concept art??
there are 2 types of mmo, imitators and innovaters.

Ah yes, add more crap on top of crap and hope people return to taste it.
@deathshroud: you're also jumping in the MO=Skyrim train? I can't see anything that looks like Skyrim there. The bridges are way too slim looking and there's no snow to be seen anywhere. On top of that there's not one living thing there.
That said, it looks a lot better than most things in MO. Wish MO players would stop bringing up Skyrim, though.

do you know how old this art is?
nope

is that really an auction house they are describing? doesnt sound like much auctioning more like an npc who sells items for you at a set price you set for them.

Why is the screenshot hosted on some supposedly fansite but featured in official news about expansion? When I visited mortalarena.com, I just saw a placeholder site, but SS is clearly hosted there.. so its a site ran by devs?

think paratus originally set itup before he was a dev not sure though, it tracks the comments of the developers i beleive.
there are 2 types of mmo, imitators and innovaters.
And so the hype begins. Another "revolutionary" patch, sorry, expansion, promoted as the turning point for MO, the patch that will finally make the game complete, etc.
I love how they keep making all these unrealistic promises, like "AI never before seen in an MMO". Given their track record I think I'll wait and see about that. Besides, they already have an AI never before seen in an MMO; floating mobs, invisible mobs, rocket pigs and wisents that eat you up so that you have to fight them from inside!
So it this like Dawn where the expansion was a place holder for the systems instead of the system themselves like horse breeding etc? Or is it going to be like the food system where there was a bug that instantly made you go down to skeletal once you died and all the devs said was oh my bad, have fun.
And let me guess we all have to put all our primary points into the new systems like item identification and dyeing your clothes to adequately use them. Meaning we have to buy 2 more accounts so we can adequately use any of the features in the expansion just like Dawn's fishing etc.
Btw this is not a expansion, just like how Dawn wasn't. There're filling in the gaps they left out for features that should of been there at launch. Henrik is just trying to con you out of your money.
A expansion is something like a new continent...my god when they release a new continent are they going to call that Mortal Online 2? Because right now apparently an expansion to SV is when you release a buggy horse and food system.

so clothing and armor have health bars now and can be killed?
Hahaha, just noticed that as well. They didn't even spellcheck the expansion announcement.. guess there was no appropriate EvE article to copy from, eh?
Aside from Dawns shortcomings, I do have semi-fond memories of Dawns release. Seeing the new foliage, and using the new cooking stations, picking corn, and drinking from the river. More than anything I was disappointed about the cemetary zombies and how noobish they were- I guess AI had something to do with that too though.
I can see this time with Awakening being fun fighting animals/mobs with a new UI and seeing what will happen, and then putting a colorful outfit together. Just wondering how many primaries armor dye crafting will take... or will it be part of alchemy also?

The tindrem screenshot looks pretty sweet:
I'm exited for all the new shiny, hope they can pull it off sooner than later.
Considering that Tindrem was half done since beta, I am surprised to see it took them this long to open it.
well, they've been saying they need the ai and all that jazz... not too unrealistic i guess

The armor dyeing seems cool. Hope you can dye plate armor though. That would be badass.
Bad idea to release these features as an expansion rather than individual hot fixes.
SV should have learned its lesson from Dawn...
They should integrate the new features one at a time, allowing the devs to isolate the bugs properly.

fail joke
as for the expansion, well dawn also had the shit hyped out of it...im just saying.
really hope it works out though
and toferio you shouldnt say anything about bad spelling seriously
How do you spell that really? Dieing is to die right? Dying is??
It's Dyeing. Seriously.
