Mass Exodus of Republic from SWTOR!

If you go to the official forums you will see that in both the General and PvP forums that Imperials are crying that there is no Republic players to fight, as well as low population complaints on the Republic Side as a result of rage quits from both SWTOR and from Republic players re-rolling Imperial or playing their Imperial alts.

All the result of patch 1.1 and the Imperial Valor exploit fiasco.

All the Imperials that flamed the Republic Posters who said they were quiting etc. telling them to STFU and just quit are now crying they have no Republic opponents.

Such a shame that a few fail developers and project leads at SWTOR are too stupid to code properly, design, and test the game.

It's only now that they've implemented actual world pvp where killing opponents is required, that faction imbalances become apparent.

No where in the description of the game did I read where Star Wars: The Old Republic was a PvP centric game.  There is PvP in it.  But the last time I checked, it was a STORY DRIVEN MMORPG.  *looks at the words* Nope.  Don't see PvP Centric in there anywhere.

But honestly, not that I have a problem with PvP'ers, but are you suprised they cry so bad?  10 to 1 says the Republic just rolled Empire.

    Yes, thank you, next question.

Yes, Bioware should have stayed away from the PvP aspect of the game altogether and just focus on the PvE.

They decided to create PvP servers; therefore, they are responsible for creating and maintaining functional PvP.  Bioware decided to cash-in on the PvP aspect, so they are to be blamed for every single PvP mistake they do.

I don't get it.  What shoudl they have done capped the area? How open world is that? Capping the server? What if I am a new player and want to roll on a server with my friends? If the server is capped I would not be able to. Not sure what else they could have done.

TOR is all about Sith vs Jedi. I don't understand how you could not expect for there to be pvp in it....

That being said, if BW would just offer free transfers from empire to the republic side, I know my whole guild would be ready to take advantage of it...there is literally nothing to do anymore in this game. Terribly buggy instances, raids that take little skill, and now their pvp is basically a zerg on the few republic that are left playing. At least if empire could transfer for a one time free pass it might help balance it out a little in pvp and we might have one thing to do.

So all the whining on forums from PVP crowd (nothing new there by the way) some how translates to mass exodus? some words here get abused more than Paris Hilton on daily basis.

A handful of people on a forum hardly constitutes a mass exodus, it just means some are being overly loud.

Another way would be to let the lightside empire players be able to fight on the republic side, maybe even forced to do so if the population difference is too large in PvP areas. There are no easy solutions since they didn't choose the 3 faction path.

QFT. Official forums represent ~2% of the actual player base - usually the most vocal and socially inept of the player base (with very, VERY few exceptions).

I make spreadsheets at work - I don't want to make them for the games I play.

Age of SIth? reminds me of AoC the first year. tortage was great, tried all the classes but nothing was right beyond 20. SWToR is missing features that are state-of-the-art for mmo's, bugs, pvp weak, the only real fun part are the class storylines. Triion had its problems with Rift but they have been trying to keep up, EA has shown very little effort at making things right. i was in beta, they removed a lot before launch, i waited 1 month before i started and STILL things are as they were in beta. unreal.

While we are at it: they also have an above average intelligence compared to the rest of the game population.

Wah wah I have no Republic Players to fight now.....

Yes true, its a very story centric game, however....the PvP servers were the most popular servers and when your most popular servers experience and exodus from the game or from one faction to the other, causes massive problems.

All Bioware had to do was close the Ilum zone while they fixed it, instead they allowed 24 hours of Imperial valor farming.

Do give you an idea of the vast scope of the issue, even though this was a level 50 warzone, all servers have this warzone regardless of whether they are PvP servers or not, and tons of OPS groups were formed with level 50's escorting lower level players thru the level 50 mobs to get to the place to farm the valor. The Republic spawn point was released with patch 1.1 as a non safe zone, thus Republic players were spawn camped to such an epic degree that numerous videos were posted on utube of the event. Turrets were also providing valor which Bioware claimed they should not. The issue was so bad Bioware shut down taxis in an effort to keep non level 50's from reaping the profits of valor farming, i.e. the level 50 mobs would kill them as they traveled by foot and no taxi. But like I said mass OPS groups were formed to escort the lower level players, of which I was one.

This ruins the game, as now in addition to the previous population inbalance, you now have not only a 10-1 ratio of Imperials to Republic that is growing, but also players with max level 60 valor at levels that were not intended to have such valor. Thus, Imperial players with an already larger population now have a much greater amount of higher valor which results in better gear, which results in more warzones won by better geared imperials of all levels.

Republic players wanting to PvP will be outmatched across multiple catagorys all the way to level 50 and beyond.

it is no surprise that Republic players are re-rolling Imperials or playing Imperial alts or quiting.

In many cases Republic players are doing this just until there is a valor roll back. Unfortunately Bioware has said this will not happen.

Very very sad and stupid on Biowares part, I guess they got some el cheapo programmers and leads that no jack you know what when it comes to testing etc.

The fans over there are starting to sound a lot like Bahgdad Bob, in one breath it's, you are a minority, then in the next it's, everyone's a crybaby in the same sentences. Makes you shake your head at the cognitive dissonance.

working as intended for a pve game with garbage pvp setup, 2 factions failed again no surprise there.

What do you expect a lvl50 character to do other than PvP then?... continuely do the same instances over and over and over and over?

Also, the trailers for the game, pretty much point to PvP if you ask me.. and besides... this is STAR WARS.. if you make a game under this IP and don't expect people to want to PvP... you obviously don't know what you're doing.

If you wanted to make a game that focuses 90% of it's development on STORY TELLING that's fine.. but make it a single player game... rather than a single player game with flawed multiplayer mechanics.

Though they did get it kind of right with the flashpoints and multiple choice group stuff.

    ..Cake..

How the hell you even made a comparison between AOC and SWTOR during the launch? AOC hardly had any content beyond lvl 20, the content gaps were huge and people had to rely on grinding mobs to level up. There was no end game, broken and lagfest PVP, empty promises of features printed on abck of box which never made into the game till to this date. Loading screen..loading screen and more loading screens.. not to mention horribly long laoding times and constant crashes.

Every MMO ahs bugs on release, every themepark MMO has PVP patched on as a second thought, but to say SWTOR is like AOC...hand over to me whatever it is that you are smoking.

So close down a planet, that is the solution, a planet with both pvp and pve on it. The roll back would have been a better solution than this but then you would get people complaining about the missing valor. So no it's not that easy.

You can discredit the forums all you like, but in the game players like me who actually play the game as well as others have posted facts of what is being experienced right now.

Poo poo it all you want, but no matter how you slice it, its a damn shame and sad.

The curse of the major IP I guess.....I do love SWTOR though even with all its faults, but then again I am playing Imperial so I am very happy except for the lack of Republic opponents in PvP, which results in long PvP que times and no PvP in contested areas of worlds.

Like I said, the PvP servers were tha most popular.

There are 100+ server in SWTOR so even if you want to gather enough data to support all the whining by imperial side, you just cna not do it. A vocal minority on forums does not translate to mass exodus as you were trying to prove with your original post. Hyperbole and exaggeration never makaes a solid argument.
