Because WoW said sorry and did charge your for the time it was down unlike other games...

Also WoW didn't destory MMORPGs lazy short sighted devs that tried to copy WoW's success by making WoW 2.0 did.

I will not play a game with a cash shop ever again. A dev job should be to make the game better not make me pay so it sucks less.

--CCP could cut off an Eve player's fun bits, and that player would say that it was good CCP did that.

people started laughing at MMO players because of WoW.......

Thats BS mate  Ever Quest did that not Wow  . Back in the days when you say you play Ever Quest  people automatically think your a 'nerd' (nothing wrong being a nerd but yeah

Just like how people laugh at Dungeon and Dragon players back in the days

yes because the market got horribly skewed

back when EQ was the top MMO (im not an EQ fan btw), the difference in subs between EQ and the next MMOs like DAOC, AC, UO etc.. was minimal, EQ had something like 30% more subs than daoc.  WoW has something like 900% the subs of SWTOR.

so theres no massive drive on WOW to improve as it just hasn't got any competition.

so there is a tendancy for publishers to drop mmos and stop supporting them if they don't get anywhere near "wow numbers"

so there is pressure to make every mmo a wow clone.
