Temp ban for saying something bad about Frogster? WHAT!?
So I just checked my email and found out that after posting in a thread and stating that it was bad Frogster didn't deliver on the first sneak peek, I was issued a Temp ban.
Really? A Temp ban for being frustrated about a companies inability to deliver on something? And it was just a simple comment made in a retrospective context. I won't link to it as the link will likely be removed. Also it was mod edited. But it was regarded as 'Trolling'
I used just 1 swear word. 1.
I didn't even think the post was warning worthy even! I've seen countless, infinitely more offensive posts on this forum and I don't see those individuals being issued temp bans/warnings :S.
If MMORPG.com mods intend to stop people stating their opinions, then please do tell the community and we will stop posting our VIEWS on how MMO companies conduct their business on this website. Quite disgraceful, considering how long I've been here.
Will probably get a ban for this post as well!

Even if its true entirely how you said it happen, whats gotta do with mmorpg ?
I dunno, one could interprete it as MMORPG.com displaying favoritism towards a company? Or did everyone forget about the whole 'Failcom' fiasco with AoC?
Point is I got banned for slandering Frogster. I should be allowed to express my views on a company, ESPECIALLY if they have done something wrong.

Why should you exactly? Not saying I agree with what happened, but to say you should be able to do something ona site where they can moderate it however they want is silly.
If they wanted to perma ban you for saying the they could, it is funny though that I havnt been modded ina while but you get modded for something simple.
Heck, I evne called someone stupid 3 or 4 times (wasnt uncalled for mind you) and didnt get modded.

Frogster would have to ban the whole gaming communty then because everyone has said somethng bad about them. It's a shame BHS picked them to publish tera in EU imo.

Well its quite known that this site is anything but objective, most of what mmorpg.com post - game reviews whatever, is strongly bias. I dont know if companies pay them for it, if so it understandable, if not then mmorpg.com really need stop all teh bias going on here. Reading a review here or one made by the company it self looks alike. This is not journalism or objective at all.

I was watching some streams of EU's test today and they were still having some server wide lag spikes, you just cannot have that for an action/skill based game. They need to fix their shit asap.

The problem is the word you used. It was not just a swear word, it was offensive.
Just to clarify, I am fully aware that since this is a privately owned site - MMORPG.com can do whatever they want to my account. However, may I also suggest that this does not exactly foster community relations...if you know what I mean.
I've been warned for posts MUCH worse than I made yesterday in the past, but a Temp ban is going WAY too far.
I too have posted significantly more offensive comments in the past and got away. What I've found is MMORPG.com are very, very selective on their modding. People will say all kinds of vulgarities on this site, but once it goes into the context of certain 'criteria' it instantly becomes a crime.
Sadly it seems my post met that criteria. : /

It's widely accepted - by both professional outlets and smaller game studios - that MMORPG.com and its network sites aren't objective. They have, on numerous occassions, been demonstrably showing favouritism to particular studios, particular titles, and certain product lines. It has a hell of a lot to do with advertising.
Of course MMORPG.com isn't ever going to admit to any of that; it's really easy to make it look like there's "nothing" to admit.
I have seen from previous posts the way you express yourself and I am not suprised you have got a ban TBH.
It dosen't come down to how many swear words you use, it often comes down to a tone of hostility and aggression that just is not productive and just causes friction for no reason.
Instead of being outraged by the ban, maybe learn from it and examine the way you use forums? It's just a suggestion.
You will get more people to read and understand, and maybe agree, with what your saying if you approach them in a calm reasonable way.

Id say that deserved a warning sure, a temp ban seems extreme unless it was on the tale end of other infractions.
It was nothing major, starts with an s and is 4 letters, assuming what I know is the truth.
