Some examples of immersion that I am looking for is npcs walking around world as if they have a stuff to do. Ambient noises as stuff is going on such as a black smith hitting an anvil. Of course the game would not have to have those specifics, but they are just some examples of the kind of lively world I am looking for.

Also, they have to at least have a trial.
Aion is very much like that and they do have a free trial for like 2 weeks or up to lvl 20. Also they are going free to play entirely soon. Great game, just the playerbase isn't too huge which kinda kills it. Hoping when it goes ftp it gets higher population
lol you are kidding right?? Aion??? immersive / lifelike world???
Ryzom is the only MMO with a living, breathing, dynamic world. Carnivores attack herbivores, herbivores roam in herds and go up to you and interact with you. Animals migrate depending on the season. Weather, dynamic seasons (so a lot of the scenery changes in appearance and the weather changes)...ambient sounds to go along with the world (no music, though).
No MMO has a lifelike world like Ryzom has.
I'll second that. I don't play Ryzom much, but no MMO even comes close to it in immersion..
Yes I have a dream And its not some MLK dream for equality. I wanna own a decommissioned lighthouse And I wanna live at the top And nobody knows I live there. And theres a button that I can press, and launch that lighthouse into space.
The standard for immersion is "Skyrim". I can't think of a single MMO that comes close to it.
By the way you have 40+ games played listed in your bio. Pretty impressive for someone your age! Out of all those games, which one(s) did you consider to be the most immersive?

MMO = Massive Multiplayer Online
So unless you have a mouse in your pocket and are downloading porn while killing dragons, Skyrim is NOT an MMO.
I agree Ryzom is one of the best games for immersion.
How does Vanguard compare?

Yes I am aware that Skyrim is not an MMO. I was simply using it as an example of a game that is immersive. Not suggesting that he play it, but I can understand the confusion in my post so sorry. The second line in your post just confuses me. I am sure that it is funny though.
And I can't agree with those that call Ryzom the most immersive. I find the graphics very unimmersive to begin with. (opinion) Also NPC scripting is very static. But it is an open world and of course the monster/animal AI is first rate. So it has some elements but really lags behind a game like, shall we say "Skyrim"!
So I would say Ryzom has immersive gameplay , but not an immersive world. As far as MMO's I am not sure what I would suggest, haven't played them all and most I have seem instanced, which seems to be a big sore point for immersion seekers. But really, immersion is in your head isn't it? If you can get your head into a game it is pretty immersive IMO.

Ryzom has the most immersive , organic , vibrant wildlife ever found in any mmorpg's so far

If you are daring you could check out Xsyon, although there is no trial that I am aware of. But the world is quite beautiful (hell its geographically based on a real location). And a fun world to run around and explore. WIth that said, there is no trial, steep price to try out ($40 I believe), and its a indie game lacking features to sustain interest. But its probably the only MMO I've played in the last 6 years that ever made me say "wow" when exploring and enjoying the environment (single player games that made me say "wow" are just Minecraft and Skyrim recently and no MMOs other than EQ and Xsyon).
