They are only going for 4,000 beta slots because they figure that will fill the two servers that they can afford to run. Of that 4k people who preorder all gets spots. Try before you slam it eh? Basicly the open beta is just a place to get the people who preorder testing the damn thing. This seems to be a manuver in the direction of "Play to test" the likes of which we have never seen before.
Yes pay to test is a disturbing trend. SWG really capitalised on it and now it seems like we have to accpet it as the norm.
I will be waiting until this one is on the shelves personally.
