Looking for PvE, good crafting, mainly solo, some RvR

Looking for either a decent Free to play or Pay to play.

If it's a game with a cash shop, would like it if it was still something you could play without investing ridiculous amounts of money in. (No p2win)

Here's what I'm looking for:

Good crafting, extra points for ability to craft anything by working my way up, instead of being limited to one harvest type or crafting type.

Large inventory. I'm a packrat, and want to be able to carry a ton of stuff with me.

The things you craft are of value to other players, and they'll occasionally buy them.

I like unusual character types and customization, (not just humans and elves, etc.)

No ganking. I'm not interested in open PvP where I can get killed by another player while I'm out harvesting hides or whatever.

In fact, not that into PvP unless it's more like RvR. (I liked the battlegrounds in WAR.)

Decent graphics. I don't really consider myself a graphics snob, but I would like something that looks good. (It would be hard to go back to something like AO, Istaria, etc.)

Prefer semi-realism vs. cutesy anime.

Prefer open world to instanced, although occasional instances are ok.

I group occasionally, but mainly solo due to few (and odd) hours to play.

I'm not at all concerned with endgame, as I'm a very casual player and will never see endgame.

Note: EQ2 comes the closest to what I'm after, but the graphics are looking dated (especially the environments.) If EQ2 looked like Rift I'd be a happy camper!

Thanks for any suggestions.

Playing: Various Stuff
Played: AC, AoC, ArcheAge, BDO, CoX, EQ2, Eve, GW, LotRO, Ryzom, SWG, SWtOR, Vanguard, WoW, Etc.

Sounds like you're realatively like me (love crafting, came from AO, HZ and VG). I would suggest Fallen Earth. It can be semi-sandbox if you treat it as such and its the closest I found that "feels" anything remotely like post-2004 MMOs (but with fairly updated graphics). I never did any quests - other than the few "starter" quests to help you get a feel for the game. Other than that, I levelled strictly off of crafting - and just roamed the world scavaging and harvesting. People there are fairly helpful and mature too.

    - Great crafting system.

    - Can level up soley through crafting.

    - Lots of things to harvest.

    - Lots of things to craft - No limit - you can craft everything.

    - Lots of inventory space (3 different banks, vehicles and mounts to store in, and your pack).

    - Can craft things of high value to others (vehicles sell for alot - but take along time to make)

    - No ganking. (The only way you can get ganked is if you intentionally flag or go into pvp zones)

    - Decent graphics.

    - Very semi-realism (mounts stay where you leave them, don't disappear, vehicles need gas, etc).

    - Huge open seemless world.

    - Very solo friendly.

Edit: Forgot to mention, it is also Free-to-Play now. Not pay-to-win. Mostly cosmetic things in the store. Nothing mandatory to play well and/or succeed. Of course you can absolutely sub and enjoy all the perks (if you like). But the F2P model is well done.

I downloaded Fallen Earth a couple nights ago and am giving it a go. I like aspects of it so far. The only thing that's bugged me is the way you have to always toggle back and forth between "normal" and "fighting" modes, but I could probably get used to it.

I do like all the crafting and the finding books to improve skills, and it's good to hear that there's a lot of storage.

Nice! Its truly a gem of a game. Yeah, having to toggle combat did take a little getting used to. But I picked it up fairly quickly - I think you will probably too. I went rifles, but melee is a lot easier for sure.

Yes, hunting down all the books is fun. And yeah there is alot of storage. You've got your 3 different banks. Normal vaults are in every town. Barter vaults are in the bigger towns/cities. And the third (can't remember the vault name - I rarely use it) is only found in the capital cities. And you can have a total up to 5 or 6 mounts/vehicles parked in the garage/stables to store stuff in.

I am a pack rat haha. So I store everything. And since almost everything is a crafting material in Fallen Earth, I end up saving it all, hehe. Needless to say I have all my vaults, vehicles and pack stocked to the brim!

I will send you a PM here with my character name. If you ever have any questions or need help, feel free to ask.

When you are into crafting, then in Fallen Earth at some point you have to go into pvp zones to gather mats as some vital stuff only spawns there. There you can expect to be ganked.
