I'm Kinda happy about being overlooked.

Really alot of people are overlooking this game or are afraid of it because of the word Funcom. personally i'm loving it, ive said it quite often that TSW isnt looking to be the next WoW, if anything they want it to feel like AoC does now. The more people that play this game increases the likely hood that the Casual scene will move into it. That's the last thing that i want, really if the casual scene gets ahold of this it will be complained about non stop until it gets dumbed down to their level. so all the gamers that have no interest in the game, please keep that little interest. People who want to have the freedom to build their characters, not have armor that gives a +10 to whatever, Puzzles and Boss fights that require thought instead of tank and spank, And last but not least a more DND like role system where having a Controller, a Striker, A tank, a Healer and a support as a party instead of the Tank 3 DPS and a healer setup.

Because i can.
I'm Hopeful For Every Game, Until the Fan Boys Attack My Games. Then the Knives Come Out.
Logic every gamers worst enemy.

I agree with you entirely!! I myself am in the same boat, i will be happy if the casual gamers never gives this a go! Not saying i don't want this game to go well but i would hope that the right people, the smart people play this game and we can have fun, instead of dumbing everything down so those "casual" players have a chance at the game!

More and more, I agree. When the masses come into a game, they tend to ruin the community. Of course, look at AoC. Even a community that isn't that huge, can be really terrible given a few variables.

I want there to be enough players for Funcom to fund further content at a good pace, but I don't want the caliber of people who want to faceroll everything or who only care about raiding, gear treadmills, and Chuck Norris jokes.

"There are two great powers, and they've been fighting since time began. Every advance in human life, every scrap of knowledge and wisdom and decency we have has been torn by one side from the teeth of the other. Every little increase in human freedom has been fought over ferociously between those who want us to know more and be wiser and stronger, and those who want us to obey and be humble and submit."

I agree. So-much-so, that I really wish you didn't make this thread.

Don't fool yourself, you know how it is here on mmorpg.  As soon as the game goes into beta the trolls will come out of the woodwork and start spewing hate.  It's sad but true,  it happens to all of the big name brands.  War, Rift, SWToR, Tera, none are overlooked if they FEEL that it threatens their game.  Because nothing is better than THEIR game.

Velika: City of Wheels: Among the mortal races, the humans were the only one that never built cities or great empires; a curse laid upon them by their creator, Gidd, forced them to wander as nomads for twenty centuries...

I'm probably going to play gw2 AND tsw, unless something major changes, both look good and deserve some support for being AAA games that are not YAWCs

Is this a veiled crack at WOW players?  I dont play WOW anymore, I was just wondering if thats what you meant by "THEIR" game? IMHO most of those of those games on your list were full on fails in there own right.

As for the TSW I think with SWTOR being what it is and how GW2 is shaping up its my only hope for a new MMO that I can truely call home this year.  Its odd Im not really into the conspiry theory genere but its so nice to see an AAA MMO company actually do something diffferent and interesting.

Its funny how many people are on  the GW2 bandwagon and yet its really no different then SWTOR, WOW, WAR etc.  No persistent gameplay and tired old rehashed concepts.  Sure the instanced no persistent PvP plays out over longer periods but its still just another roller coaster ride with all the loops and drops that we have come to expect.

Im not saying the TSW is not going to have alot of that as well but atleast they are taking some really risks and distinigishing the game.  I think if we as MMO gamers want to see really change in the MMO genere we need to support games like this as much as possible.  (Assuming its not rushed out the door)
