It's elementary my dear Watson... It is a niche game that will not have huge numbers of Console fanbois boasting that they play on some archaic tracking tool.

Look at the game(s) fhat are direct competition to Darkfall. They have a minimum of 20 players average. I am all for seeing DF succeed. More people need to idle in Xfire while in the game just for the games sake. Player made advertising even if X-fire is a steaming pile of garbage.
The definition of insanity: doing the same thing over and over expecting different results.
I use xfire and I think its cool. I think more DF players should use xfire as someone else stated, I think its good for communication free voice chat, and it works well in game idk about specific df performance issues.
The problem is the world in Darkfall is massive, most players live in there guild city.
You can create a new character in a starting city and not see any other player in that starter town.
You can walk across the map and not run into ANYONE from one end of the middle continent to the other unless you walk into a major city.
The population is Darkfall is not rising its falling. New players know that they can't compete with the veterans and old players are moving on to better games.
This is one of the reasons why Mortal Onlines population is rising.

New players can compete against vets. I have seen it with my own eyes. A player who was mainly a GOOD fps player picked up the game. His guild eqipped him. He beat a vet in a dual.
Now if you are a skill-less player like me you would have difficulty being a vet.
We are up to 7 people on x-fire!

I'm hearing the polor opposite. 12 noobs (not first day noobs, but less than 6 months noobs) couldn't take out a single veteran. That vet having 90% health after the battle.
If that noob really did take out that vet. The vet must have been asleep at the keyboard.

The n00b was given good gear. An r80 bow hits much harder than a r0 bow at any level of bow skill. Hitting a target is up to players hand and eye skill. Someone with 100 Archery with an r80 bow and really bad hand and eye skills (like me) will die to a newbie with 10 skill and a r80 bow if that new player is REALLY good at FPS. I am talking about "Fatality" good at FPS.
I bet if Fatality made a new character in Darkfall and was given good equipment he would be able to dual almost anyone on the server and win 80% of the time after only playing a day to get used to the interface.
Still only 7 players on X-Fire. The direct competition to DF has 17 players.

I don't own an xfire account and i play DF. I just think its useless and the community probably feels the same way.
Beside, i heard that its not recommended to play DF with xfire. Something about performance.

I'm more shocked that X-Fire still has 6 users.
It shows that 6 Darkfall players use Xfire...

well if you compare to wows 15k xfire and wows 11 mill subs this means df has 3.5k+ subs.
obviously I don't believe this. but it just goes to show xfire still doesn't mean shit.
My blog:

I guess all 6 Xfire users play Darkfall then?
x-fire numbers don't lie only 6 people play darkfall
/agree
There's no way that game has that many subs. It's less than 3.5k for sure.
