Mods.. you keep deleting a thread without looking at it

the I give it a D thread is actually a pro GW2 thread and had a very useful video in it >.< From what I read before it was deleted was that the one before it was also removed... why?!?!? it wasn't trolling at all.

Havent read the thread but the title does seem a bit troll baitish. Maybe rename it to something more appropriate and try again.

they are mods I am sure that is within their power... just pretty sure they didnt read it.. also to clarify this was NOT my thread, just one I was replying to when it was deleted. =P So advice on keeping the thread up is probably falling on deaf ears

I must agree here i realy dont understand why the topic "Why i gave guildwars 2 a D" was removed it was a guinen topic a preview rating after beta weekend.

Should not have been removed thats rediculous:(

Thread title was misleading even though the OP was pointing on a pro GW2 topic. Maybe a title along the lines of "my video review of GW2" than trying to create a shock and watch all the pro GW2 fans come raging in title.

Same reason I was warned about mods and emus for talking about a standalone game I guess. Poor reading skills? Just randomly passing out warnings and shuttign down posts to get your fix of "power" for the day? I remember when this website was a place you could exchange ideas, and actually have discussions. Now it's a big billboard for crappy AAA letdowns.

the video title WAS about giving it a D >.< all the mod had to do was read the posts on the thread to see it wasnt a troll thread but easier would have been to actually watch 30 seconds of the video and see it wasn't a troll

I wouldn't say fanboi.. but baiting yes it was and it was clever of the guy who did it. The video was a good review though, not blind to the problems of the game and not critical of things that didn't need criticism.

The thread title should have been something completely different. It was, to me, and obvious troll-bait thread when I glanced at it about 20minutes ago on the mainpage only to ignore it. Something tells me a mod did the same thing. The difference is, I'm not a mod & I'm not allowed to delete threads .

 

Seriously though, if it wasn't a troll thread why did a mod delete it? Sounds highly unprofessional had it NOT been a troll thread like everyone claims?

It was a video review that was also posted on guildwarsinsider.    Someone posted a meaningful thread and named based off the title of the video.  Due to that title the mod got mistakenly deleted it.

 

So no there was no baiting.

The point is not that it was a complaint as I understand deleteing troll threads as they aren't true complaints only trying to get ppl mad. This wasn't a troll thread.

Other two are different and developed its good preview video for GW2.

If you are expressing an opinion in the title that is NOT your own, nor reflected by the content of your post (not including external links/vids), then you are baiting, unless you put quotes around the part of the title that is someone ELSE'S opinion.

No one should have to read the topic to get the gist of what YOU are expressing, as strange as that may sound.  Titles need to be accurate and descriptive.  Of course, a LOT of people put vague titles and aren't punished for it, but that's slightly less bad then putting something misrepresentative of the actual tone of the topic contents.

You KNOW people will see something inflammatory like "I give it a D" and rush in, maybe post without reading (believe it or not they are entitled to do so), and you've baited them into it.

In general, I think it's a minor offense, and removing may have been overboard, but don't pretend it's innocent.

 It was just a deceptively titled video...it wasn't baiting.  It's like saying I give you an "E" for excellent!

If folks think that video is baiting, then they need to tune their sensitivity meters down a bit .
