LF Open World MMO

ArakaziArakazi Member UncommonPosts: 911

I'm taking a break from EVE and PvP for a while and I'm looking for a stress free open world MMO rpg in the mould of Vanguard. Preferably a sandbox but doesn't have to be. I just want something to chill out with, with a good community and interesting combat. I've played VG a while back but I don't want to go back since I the population is so low. I don't mind P2P games and so long as it's on digital download I will try it.

Fallen Earth, Darkfall, and Mortal Online are the latest to release I think.

Do you mean EQ2? Thats not openworld. I would call it a theampark game.

While not quite what youre expecting, whenever I want to unwind I spend some time in Wurm Online. Its very community orientated, and a very relaxing and player managed world, from terraforming the land to building on it. Might be worth a look for you.

No EQ1 is going F2P, but what do you mean by openworld? Like a changable world where you could build a house, or that there are no zone lines and loading between areas?

*edit* Have you looked into LOTRO? I haven't played it myself but seems more chill than most MMOs.

*edit edit* Really it sounds more like you need an escape from MMOs. Skyrim is a very chill open world, Minecraft as well.

Never knew EQ1 was going free to play. Not sure I should play it again I have very fond memories of it, would want to ruin them with a dose of reality.

I mean Open World as in no zones or artificial barriers. I have tried LoTRO, it's a bore. No offence to the fans, but it's a souless game, although it's well made.

Not sure I need an escape from MMOs, I just want one that I can play casually without overthinking things too much. EVE is still my game but it can be stressful when 200+ people want to kill you :). Some people just take things too personally and a cooling of period will be good and I need to lower my profile a bit :).

I'll check out Wurm and the other game.
