Light side points are broken

TerranahTerranah Member UncommonPosts: 3,575

Yeah, like the title says.  My light side points have not gone up in at least two weeks, possibly longer.  I was hoping it would self correct with maintenance or patch but it didn't.

One ticket closed, another locked and then deleted.  Just got an email saying they are sending my ticket to the dev team.  That's great I guess but why would a core mechanic break?  A couple weeks worth of points gone and probably more than that although I admit I was playing casually.  But points add up.  I'm pretty sure I'd be light side 5 or close to it by now.

I can only think of one reason.  The development team is a PUG.

YOUR light-side points are BUGGED.  EVERYONE ELSE'S light-side points are not BROKEN.  Big difference!

As a QA manager I have to handle customer tech support issues from time to time at my company, and there are a lot of issues that are just single customer issues, or just really really limited amount of customers are experiencing it. Not sure if this is what you have, but I know that lightside is working for myself and my friends.

There are a lot of bugs that are just incredibly difficult to capture before they go into the wild. There is also the possibility they do have it logged as a defect in their databases but it is marked as a fringe case because there are numerous unorthodox steps to achieve the broken state. Those fringe cases normally only see the light of day if there are a sizeable amount of customers experiencing the issue.

It sucks but I do hope you can get your issue resolved. I work on a commercial retail product, and it sucks when I see customers on forums who have issues but we can't do anything to address them due to a lack of information, time,  or interest. Typically it is the former over the latter.
