Disclaimer: I don't give a crap about people getting along.

When did the community get so polarized into Sandbox vs. Theme Park?

As of not too long ago I didn't consider myself either, but in defending some games and criticizing others I have been drawn in to the battle as a sandbox person.

I have received warnings for responding in kind to nasty posts (which is my fault for being a counterjerk) recently, and it has made me think that the lines are being drawn, the community is being polarized, and disdain for members of the other faction is on the rise.

It's getting a bit like politics. The issues aren't important, it's more about the sport of beating the other team.

To boot it also seems like it's predicated somewhat on a false dichotomy.

I don't consider myself one or the other. Both styles have elements that I enjoy, as well as ones I don't.

That Guild Wars 2 login screen knocked up my wife. Must be the second coming!
