After going through a huge ordeal to finally get my login credentials to work, now the account says 'Not Available' for the client download... I got the email saying it was available.
What do I do now? ugh.... Not a great user experience thus far

The email doesn't say that's where you download the client, the email directs you to the forum where the beta client is being hosted.
"Click here to go to the "Getting Started" thread in our beta forums, where you can download the beta client and learn important information about the upcoming weekend event. You can log in to the forums using the same User ID and password that you created when you registered your Guild Wars 2 account"
Just go there and you will be downloading the client in no time
I think you may be looking in the wrong place. The actual download is available from the forums at https://forum-en.guildwars2.com/forum/info/news/Getting-Started/page/1#post23793
I hope that helps.
Yeah that is not in use right now. Just the one they linked you to in the e-mail.
I know, it kinda fooled me too. But seriously, don't worry about that until later on.
Thanks. Starting the process now.
Interestingly enough, when I log into the forums no forums come up. Only when I followed this direct link you provided am I able to see them...
When you log in there is some text down on the bottom (left) that takes you to the post. It is easy to miss...
It would have been far more logical to simply enable the client link in "account" but that's just my opinion.
That helped me since i was loking for the link and it wasnt in my email that i got or on my account page. Thanks
Yeah, its quite odd that they decided to tuck the link in a forum post.
I'd assume the account section for Downloading the Client is for release, would have been nice to have it operational for BWE though.

I suppose they wanted to keep the download link next to the instructions regarding moving the installer to a different folder.
OP, you did read those instructions and did move the installer to the right folder before starting the update, right? Just checking
