Beta weekend is about to end tonight and I've already stopped playing because I don't want to ruin the game for myself or get invested into my characters.  I am MORE excited for the game now then I was 2 days ago.  And we still don't have a release date, rofl.

I tried to play some Rift, WoW and Tera today to get my mind off of GW2, but it keeps taking over my gaming thought process.  So many things to find wrong with those games that GW2 does right, it's annoying and yet exciting at the same time, lol.

I still like those games, but man, they pale in comparison to the FUN and immersion I had in GW2 this weekend.  Just being able to head off in any direction I choose and find content to do and lose track of time and what level I am is just so awesome of a design aspect, I can't believe it hasn't been done like this yet.  No boring linear one track through everything, just the sheer joy of getting lost in the world created.

The cities alone are so big and immersive, I was looking at Meridian in Rift yesterday and while I used to find it cool to look at, it's like looking at a matchbox car version of a porche sitting next to a lifesize version of an Aston Martin Vanquish.

I could gush all day about GW2.  I wasn't really a fanboy before but I am now.  So glad 2012 is finally the year the MMORPG genre shines again.  Now if TSW is good I won't know what to do with myself.  Almost too good to be true....lol.

Anyway, just thought I would share, as I'm tired of all the negativity in these forums of late.  Good day!

Edit:  Wanted to add something as I couldn't resist and popped on for some more gameplay today.  This game can be HARD and I actually like it.  Tried to take on my personal quest at level 3, they recommend 4 or 5 or something and I kept getting my butt handed to me.   But it was fun trying to learn which skills to use when, when to dodge etc.  I was able to take out some mobs but there was one end mob who was level 5 that I couldn't beat at all.  so, I decided I'll come back to him when I'm level 5 or higher.

I also remapped my dodge key to my mouse and that works better for me as well as I was having difficulty double tapping a direction, it's just not how use my keyboard normally.  Glad I could change it to suit my playstyle.

Oh shit it's about to get crazy in here.

I might get banned for this. - Rizel Star.

I'm not afraid to tell trolls what they [need] to hear, even if that means for me to have an forced absence afterwards.

P2P LOGIC = If it's P2P it means longevity, overall better game, and THE BEST SUPPORT EVER!!!!!(Which has been rinsed and repeated about a thousand times)

Common Sense Logic = P2P logic is no better than F2P Logic.

    Same Elocke.

I didn't actually post that much on GW2 before this beta, though I was ofc looking forward to the game, but have to say I am now thoroughly convinced.

The game surpassed my expectations and has porved that the 'hype' wasn't empty hot air at all.

There will be a lot it won't suit for whatrvre reasons, but I'm in :)

Thats the thing i love about guild wars 2, the non linearity of choosing what you want to do and when you want to do it. i don't have to follow a quest chain and i dont have to start in a particular area, i can just go out and explore and things just happen around me. love it.

That was a big hook for me as well.

I ran out of things to try out before I stopped playing.  I did not want to go past a certain level on each class as to not ruin the true game when it comes out.  I never even touched my personal story as I will be upset if my instance looks cooler now than when it really counts.

Yep, it almost gives it a sandboxy aspect to the game.  Freedom is so important I didn't realize I was missing it until GW2.  Now I know what bugged me so much about SWTOR.  Complete lack of Freedom.

Now let us wait and see in how many weeks or months people like OP turn on the game. ;) it is inevitable.

The longer I play it, the better it gets. I think I'm turning into a fanboy as well.

I still have criticsisms about melee, general balancing and a few other issues, but what are betas for?

or how long it takes for haters like you to give up the trolling on every thread and find something better to do

Can't hate a game when i didn't even get to play it. Spent 2 days disconnecting at log in screen.  Hater on these forum means 'anyone who doesn't worship GW2'.

Agreed. You basically pick a direction and go. No more running back to the questgiver, you just go and explore and stuff happens around you. I love it.

I'm now a casual player and like how I can just jump into an event and feel like I have contributed something.   Guild wars 2 was actually fun .  For how long? Only time will tell, but with the focus being the journey, not the destination it is starting on the right track.

    ^I agree with this.

The thing I like most about the non-linearity of the game is just how lost into the game you can get. There have been plenty of times I wanted to head to a certain area to check it out or head off to do my personal story but I never made it because I got caught up in some random event. No other game has done this to me... with all other games it is run to CAMP ABC get quests, run out and complete quest, go back to CAMP ABC and turn in quest, then move on to the next CAMP. Factor this in with the fact that in other games every alt you make will be doing essentially the same thing and it get old quick. With GW2 however it is very possible that every alt you play will have its own unique gaming experience, even when playing through the same zones as your main.

And what about those npc that came running to you WHEN YOU WERE IDLE , called you by name, and kicked you in the ass to where you were needed? ive never played a game that bossy, especially in the Charr section "you Black Jack, stop watching the cows and do something useful, damn it¡¡"

Yeah, truth be told I've had a few npc's yell at me who I thought were just statically placed for scenery and they ended up having some lore in their conversation or they put me on a quest nearby.   Very immersive.

Human and Norn aren't really like that.

You have to remember, the Charr are a warrior race. They breathe war. Of course they're not going to tolerate idlers :P

MMO's played: Ragnarok Online (For years), WoW (for a few weeks only), Guild Wars, Lineage 2, Eve, Allods, Shattered Galaxy, 9 Dragons, City of Heroes, City of Villains, Star Trek Online (Got someone ELSE to pay for it), Champions Online (Someone else paid), Dofus, Dragonica, LOTRO, DDO and more... A LOT more. I've played good AND bad. The bad didn't last long. :P

Speaking of which, I think the Norn are my favorite race and starting area so far.  Love the other areas, but I've always had a thing for snow and mountains.  Of course, we still have the Asura and Sylvari to check out in the future, but for now, I'm going with Norn first.

I was amazed at the vastness of the game.  There were areas in the city that you could tell were still in development, but overall, the game shines!  There is so much to see and do! And you don't have to follow the story line if you don't want.

I loved the events!  So many people would come to them and there was no lag! Servers today performed without incident for me. Whatever the problem was yesterday, it was cleared up today.

I had fun with all of the classes. Will be hard for me to decide which class to actually play when the game goes retail.

    In all-a really fun game!

That's really amazing turn around from what you said 3 weeks ago:

"It's a good thing I didn't need hype to convince me to buy this game ASAP.  That  2 hour long, no commentary, full sound video from Gamescom 2 years ago did that for me.  It's only improved since then.  Watching that vid made feel like I was playing the game.  I've never had a video do that before.  Haven't had one do it since either, except a few more recent beta vids of GW2, hehe."

Pretty much the definition of fanboy is "Someone who is determined to drop $60 on a game, 2 years before it's released, and blathers on and on about how great it is."

    You, sir, are a liar.

I hope you enjoy the game, but try not to blow smoke up people's asses.  It's insulting, and it will ruin your credibility.
