Every hater here is going to have "cancelled their preorder".
Theres always hundreds of people that never preordered a game that magically cancel non existent preorders when their whiney.
It's the same ones that criticize games they NEVER PLAYED. Thanks to their crying wolf, I don't even take the 5% on the poll seriously, but I know the highest percentage is always going to belong to GW2. I wouldn't think of cancelling this game, I've been waiting for something that isn't another BS WoW clone for what seems like forever.
I love reading all the ridiculous posts lol. I have played most of the big MMOS, just recently cancelled SWTOR. Looking for that next great MMO is like trying to recapture your 1st Buzz!! The 1st mmo you played and stayed with will always be the one.
Hate to say it, but thats bunch of BS
I agree with what he said. Many ppl want that 1st mmo feeling all over again. And it wont happen. I really liked GW2 thou, saw a kind of game that i didnt see for some time and i hope it will be my mmo for the next years.
But i dont except it to be a completely diferent game, thats impossible or it wouldnt even be an mmo anymore. I also thing GW2 inovated and evolved, and will probably change some things in upcoming mmos.
I laugh at posts like this is feature a copy of swtor, this was a copy of wow, this feature a copy of warhamer, like it was the worse thing they could do... All this games are MMOs!
You REALLY think they could change everything from previous MMOs? Would it even be an MMO if they did that?
About this topic:
I dont know anyone that actually pre-ordered the game, and was able to play this weekend, canceling it.
I disagree. GW2 gives me that first mmo feeling. Gw2 really brought me into the game. I lost myself in it while i was playing.
It also really brought me into the game, on friday i went to bed at 8am without even noticing the hours and it didnt happen to me for a long time. But i mean, the 1st mmo you get "addicted" is always diferent even if it was much worse. Thats just my point of view.
Well, i understood what he meant but also understood what you said, i was there too
It's called the "honeymoon phase" it will wear off in a month or two after release.
Yea, but i didnt have that "honeymoon phase" for a long time and had it in a beta..

Well said. You are 100% correct. It's nothing new, same ol same ol. I'm not even going to waste my time playing because its not what everyone said it would be.
After my weekend beta, I've gathered 29 friends and family that weren't going to try it, that have now pre-purchased.
After this weekend, I have 7 sisters, 14 stepbrothers, 8 fathers, 3 grandmothers and 3 babies as yet unborn cancelling their pre-order.
After this weekend i have convinced the Dugger Family to call their banks for a chargeback on their GW2 purchase. I convinced Octomom and her kids to get chargebacks on their pre orders. And i convinced the state of Rhode Island that GW2 is the devil and the entire state filled for chargebacks!
One interesting thing about the pole is that the topic is:
"How many of you are canceling your pre-orders?"
And then you get an option saying:
"I will not touch GW2"
An objective pole isnt it ? lool
The great thing for ANet and the community is that not only are some of the most annoying people on this forum not pre-ordering, but the combined percentages of "I haven't cancelled" and "I didn't pre-order" (meaning they might buy the game since they didn't choose "I won't touch GW2") spells success no matter how you look at it.
I'm on the fence. The beta was enjoyable, but I couldn't help but feel that the tuning was WAYYY off for a lot of the events (and a lot of the story quests). This is only going to get much worse as people level through the zones and don't look back.
I'd like to see better scaling of the events in level/intensity a-la-Rift. Love it or hate it, at least their dynamic zone-wide events were level-appropriate and scaled to match the available zone population.
From my experience, the events were all comfortably difficult solo or with a few people. Things didn't get hairy until a lot of people showed up, but that can be fun in it's own right. I was very impressed that both extremes provided fun DE experiences, even if the feel of each event is different based on how many participate.
why cancel? game is freaking incredible.. honestly only issues I had were not being able to login till saturday evening due to server issues.. game is just to much fun and no monthly sub to boot
My guess is because the people that cancelled didn't like the game. Just a thought...
Since there's no sub fee, I definately will be keeping it. If they were charging though - based on this beta alone, I would not be playing. (I enjoyed it - just not THAT much )
No offense, but this post makes no sense. I bought and played Rift for a month, enjoyed it, paid $10 less than GW2 would cost me (by comparison I got about 5 times as much gameplay from Rift for $50 as I did from GW1 for $40).
You can buy a subscription game and only play it for a month. It's OK.
So, you say "no offense" but then question my sanity We're different people, you and I. I already sub to multiple games - all I'm saying is that what I saw in the current Beta was not enough to add a fourth sub into the mix, nor was it enough for me to drop a sub I'm already enjoying. Why would I then bother to buy it if I have no intentions of playing ;P?

It may be slightly simpistic. But I've been chasing it for a while now. Can I use a LSD reference? I think it's closer yet. lol

Say what?

Just admit you didnt play it. lol
My concern would be, if I let all those people try my copy, I wouldn't be left much time to play!

I can say the same about your sister!

Edited: the "pole" thing!
Sorry my English isnt the best
I've never heard of an objective pole
A "pole" is an object not sure what it has to do with this topic though...

lol i know he meant to say Poll I think
I prefer the pole strippers use
An objective pole can be right clicked to capture a point of interest.
True fact.
Cause you like to dance on said "pole"
[Mod Edit] anyone in the beta had to 'pre-purchase' and not pre-order. Which means they cant cancel it.
Sorry, my English isnt the best arround, as you may have noticed lol.
I think you all understood what i meant thou
