Currently it has enough sets imo to have a balance.
To add a new set to a class, i guess other classes should get one as well, so it is not likely to get a new for a single class real soon. (at least before first expansion i guess)
2-h Axe and 2-h Blunt would be nice. Otherwise I'd like to maybe see some classes be able to use a couple more of the weapons that are already available.
Most of the swords fall into one or two handed already so Cutlass, Falchion, Katana, etc, are already included in the game, just gives the devs more sword items to make that fit in with the one handed blade or two handed blade styles that are already there.

A spear. Most MMOs have a serious lack of spears. I think it would be a cool weapon for the warrior or guardian.
Also a crossbow. People are complaining the the guardians have poor range combat options, well give them a crossbow. Make it exclusive too. It fits their class I think, since they are like knights or whatever.
I think there are enough, but I wouldn't mind seeing some more.
Crossbow
Polearms (Halberd, etc...)
Spear (outside of water )
Scimitars
Even if some of these weapons shared the same skills as a weapon similar to them I would be happy. I know the added skills will only make things more difficult to try and balance. Scimitar could be the same skills as a dagger, 2 hand axe could be same skills as a 2 hand sword, etc...

I think spears would be nice because you could balance around medium range. Almost like the elementalist with daggers. ~300 range instead of the normal 150 or whatever.

Yup, that's exactly what I was thinking. It's a long reaching weapon so a mid range option would be nice for some abilities.

2h "blunt," you say? You mean like the massive 2h hammer that they already have? Or were you refering to something one might smoke? Sorry, but you never know about people around here. You have to be specific or you might be misunderstood.
Anywhoozle....there is already a lovely 2h hammer that whoops arse.
I'm pretty sure they already have a spear style. At least rangers did for sure.

I agree with a poster who said most MMO's have a severe lack of the "Spear" type melee fighter. Especially the one handed spear/shield set up. The best example I can think of would be the Warden in LOTRO.
I would love to see a spear/shield setup in Guild Wars 2. As well as larger two handed polearm types...they are typically underrepresented.
Someone mentioned a rapier/foil...that would also be a cool one. I can see a thief with a rapier and pistol...pirate style. The rapier could focus on bleeding damage or something.
EDIT: Oh and if they needed some ideas for animations...they could look towards some of the dynasty warriors games...I know those games leave A LOT to be desired but some of the earlier ones had some characters with pretty awesome weapons, and pretty neat animations (I can't say anything about any of their recent games...the only ones that I've played are the old ones on playstation).
Fun little trivia bit, but Necromancer staffs actually seem to form scythe blades. If you watch videos of Necromancers, and they do a good job with quality, a Staff Necro actually has the blade of the scythe formed with black energy when they cast.
Of course, it's not a true scythe. They could easily show up in expansions though. GW2 at present seems completely focused on the Tyrian region, whereas scythes originated within Cantha for the Dervishes.
Spears on the other hand? Not too sure. You already technically have spears for underwater combat, though as a person who plans on playing and maining a Warrior in GW2, I certainly wouldn't pass up on the spear option as a two hander melee option. Though I'm sure others would like to see it more as the Spartan Spear+Shield, or Paragon throwing spear options.

All of the above. I love spears. I think overall they are my favorite type of weapon. I would love to see two handed spears, one handed spears and javelins. When LOTRO came out with the Warden I was so blissfully happy...I just love that style with the shield...the Greek Hoplite fighting style. It's very cool in my opinion.
Oh another one I havne't noticed yet but...what about fists? For a warrior. Might be fun to just go toe to toe with someone (The weapon could be like gloves or something). And you could have a fist/shield combo and fight like Captain America!
I think it has more than enough to get off the ground especially when warrior i think has like what 19 combinations if i got that wrong someone correct me please , at any rate ...there will be some hey i am a ranger and i want a gun dammit types.... so i think adding a few more down the road would not hurt, but honestly we all know the priorities are post launch for a MMO and adding a couple of weapons really should be far down the list. We have many choices in the game already, if your missing out on your favorite weapons sorry might have to wait a bit .
Technically i realize the rifle is in the game already, but there is always some group of players outraged at the perceived injustice of one class not having some weapon and another having it, or a weapons being entirely absent from the game......
I am concerned with larger game breaking issues rather than what weapon types i have at my disposal i have been given many choices......I'm Good thanks areana net.

nah you just need to learn where and when to use them, think about it even in WoW how many spells where in your rotation....not very many I guarantee that. This is more a niche game find your niche and stay there....

are 19 weapons not enough? maybe a 2h axe to make it 20

Flail, both agri flail and ball and chain type.

More than enough weapons currently but i wouldn't mind seeing more in future expansions such as;
Great Axe
Crossbow
Great Katana
Flail
Scythe

Pen ! The reason should be obvious.

Heh, or a lute like in LotRO. Just jam some tunes and watch the enemies crumble.

Definitely could benefit from adding railgun, lightning gun, nailgun, grenade launcher, and light sabers.
