Sierra Hotel - Recruiting for Planetside 2

The reason for this post is that,, I am going to start a Planetside 2 outfit. Now, I know that it may be a bit early to start this for most people, but I would like to be fully prepared before the game comes out.  Planetside relies heavily on teamwork and I would like to get to know a core group of people before the game launches. 

 

I currently co-lead a guild that plays several MMOS, but I am wanting to commit myself to Planetside 2 full time when it comes out. 

 

We are a US based guild, but we have a few members in the UK. We will be playing on a US server as TR. Watch out Barney and Smurfs!

 

About Me

I am a fairly experience Planetside player. I have good knowledge of the game systems as well as successful strategies and tactics. I have held a leadership role in an NC outfit for a while now in the original Planetside. Most of their players have stopped playing the original game and are waiting for Planetside 2 to come out.  I decided that I wanted to run my own outfit recently and am looking to get things going soon.

 

I am a very capable Planetside player, and am very comfortable leading troops into battle while providing successful strategy and tactics required to be successful. 

 

My Plan

Due to my experience in the original Planetside, I have an understanding of what makes a successful Planetside outfit. In my opinion, the best outfits follow a pseudo-millitaristic structure. Structured chain of command, proper planning, clear training, and precise tactical execution are very important. Coordination is key in Planetside, and I know how to acheive these things. 

 

I plan to create an Outfit where all of these things are key to our success. Planetside provides a unique experience in the MMO world. A group of highly coordinated individuals can accomplish amazing things against overwhelming odds with the proper plan, training, and execution. 

 

What I Am Looking For

I am looking for people who are excited about the Planetside 2 launch. Previous Planetside experience is not required, but I would like to find some Planetside vets to fill roles such as squad leaders and officer positons. Finding a few people with active Planetside subs would be great so we can get in game and play together. 

 

I am reaching out to the MMORPG.com community first because I feel that there is a group of people craving a game like Planetside around here that are fed up with the current MMO scene. I think that many of you will find the unique game you are looking for within Planetside 2. 

 

While We Wait - What To Do?

As you probably know, we have no idea when Planetside 2 is coming out. Those of us that are following the game closely strongly believe that the beta will start after E3. Even so, we have no idea when the game will launch. 

 

So why should you join us now? What will we do until the game launches?

 

I am subscribed to Planetside still and play it off and on. If anyone that is interested in joining up still plays we can get together in there and get some practice/teamwork going. Tribes: Ascend is also a great team builder. 

 

Otherwise, a friend of mine and I currently operate a guild that plays a few different games. We are currently very active in Tera (although I am not playing it) with around 200 members. The guild's name is Shadow's Hand (this won't be our Planetside name).

 

Personally I am currently maintaining subscriptions to WoW, SWTOR, and Planetside 1. We have members still playing those games (although not as many as we have in Tera).  

 

A group of us will be playing Diablo 3 as well. I plan on playing that quite a bit. 

 

We are also maintaining a presence in the Firefall beta, although the Army system in that game is currently broken. 

 

Several of us play Tribes: Ascend, Minecraft, LoL, and Wurm Online as well. 

 

So if you want to play any of these games to keep busy until Planetside comes out, you can play with us.  I am also open to other games to play while we wait, especially F2P games.

(Shadow's Hand is the name of our guilds in RPG's. We are going to use Sierra Hotel in-game in Planetside 2 as it is more fitting to the setting)

I see you are getting a Vent or TS account going, but doesn't PS2 have voice built in?

It certainly does, but it remains to be seen how useful that will be.

I greatly prefer TS anyways when it comes to coordinating accross multiple squads

Awesome, glad to hear that.  If you want to head over to our forums and sign up I'm working on adding places where we can keep in touch and play any games we might be into with each other until the game comes out. Should have that stuff up tonight.

If you are Froghat then yes it worked. If not then no I don't think it did. 

 

Either way, hang around, I think we'll be able to get something awesome going when the game comes out.

Hey guys just wanted to warn everyone that my guild is restructuring our website, we are going to consolidate a lot of stuff down into a simpler thing instead of having multiple forums for different games.

The Planetside outfit is going to be interesting because we are going to call it something else that's more appropriate for the Planetside universe (Sierra Hotel instead of Shadow's Hand).

I believe the plan is to put Sierra Hotel on the ShadowsHand.com forums anyways. I'll update my pos and fill everyone in when that happens.

We currently have 3 websites and it's a bit unwieldy. We are going to put them all on the current Tera site which will become ShadowsHand.com.

It will still be enjin so if you've applied already you wot have to re-register. You will however have to hit the join button on the new site.

Im sorry for the confusion, I'll update everyone who's applied through PM when we make the final switch next week. Thanks!

You didn't say which timezone/server you would play on, I'd guess US but it might be useful to say.

Great point. I'll throw it in the OP, but we are mostly a US group. We have some UK players, but not too many.
