Ok, apologize of the bat, I know nothing about this game and the last game I played was rift which I found boring and tedious... (I have played almost every other game in the past and my favorite still remain uo and DAOC for the pvp)
Can you please tell me how is the pvp in this game? is it meaningful? does losing in battle hurt a little? or is it one of those :ok you died run back and die again no meaning behind the pvp game:
Anyway I am interested in getting back to MMO's and was curious.

Pvp in tera is only open world, with no goals or objectives, for pvp best choice is waiting for TSW or GW2
Battlegrounds and the political system are being added soon
I'm loving PVP so much so far in the game, even without those implanted yet.

Go here, read up. Enjoy community-driven pvp.
At the moment pvp is relegated to:
pvp servers
1 vs 1 Duels
Open world pvp but no goals
Guild vs Guild Battles
Deathmatches between groups which you have to set up but one can bet on them
And Battlegrounds coming at the end of the summer that will somehow tie into the Political system

The publishers seem cognizant of the fact that this game speaks to pvp players and have indicated that they want to push the pvp side in a way that makes more sense to western players. Now, I don't exactly know what that means but I'd love it if they instituted terriroty control.
The politicla system does allow for some sort of territory control but it remains to be seen how that will manifest.
