Do you have any links to good design docs how to make full loot pvp good?
Quite the loaded question you have there. I'm not sure the context has been taken properly for what you quoted. Which really goes back to the whole point of his post. A feature in itself is not inherently good or bad. It comes down to how the individual game implements it and how the mechanics interact with the multitude of other systems within the game.
So the point being, judge the game itself for it's implementations, don't judge the feature based on the success or failure of other games and their versions of it.

I was just curious since the poster i quoted was saying "do some research about the system".
I expected him to have something to "do some research on". Google isnt very helpful here.

If you go the official Embers of Caerus forum. You will see devlog after devlog talking about various things the game will have.
You sir, are welcome in our community! We lack idiots.
then you'll fit right in too.
considering the first thing that loads in google chrome (quite popular browser) is 1 (relatively) large animated banner that STARTS on a promotion for kickstarter.
coupled with another square that only advertises kickstarter that about 1/6 of the size of the banner.
and then under that is a donate button.
whilst not expressly stated as donation links, funding through kickstarter IS a form of donation.
so he's right, there is a huge donation button, and it is the first thing that loads...
@gotha I agree completely. Why do all sandbox games have to be first person. It's awful. I get that its intended to feel like you're looking through the eyes of your character, but it just kills immersion for me. Hate it.

Well, if you read all the other posts in between, against that guy, also the date of my post, of his post, and the date of kickstarter, you will find out, that it has appeared only 19 hours ago, or so. Fail.

I'm sorry guys, but why would/should I donate my money to a business? I'll invest sure, but that means I get something in return (not just game).

You donate to ( hopefully ) help these smaller developers make a good game without selling out to suits ( EA ) who are in it for only the money instead of the passion for making a good game.... See SWTOR for an example
the mage guy/warrior woman besides the "ameber of caerus" are horrible.
if you dont have good art then dont put any art. really, they look like they were drawn by a 12 year old.
eveyrthing else is very nice.
I absolutley agree.
All of the artwork on the site (well, with the exception of that kickstarter dragon thing) seems very promising. The male and female warriors at the top detract from the overall feel for the game.
Like Skyrim? Need more content? Try my Skyrim mod "Godfred's Tomb."

Agreed... please remove the mage guy/warrior woman besides the "Embers of Caerus"; nothig against the artist, but having nothing there would be better than that artwork. I think this project is a great idea and I wish it all the success in the world; too bad that for all the freedom it gives players, it doesn't allow for 3rd person gameplay. I will not be playing this game becuase of the locked in 1st person gameplay.

hmmm, I will say one thing, the people behind EoC have ambition, that's for sure; which can be both good and bad. Most if not all the rewards are game related and would not take effect till 4 years from now at the earliest!! I just don't see it happening. Even if it does get picked up by a gaming publisher and it is released, who's to say after 4 long years its still the same game and even worth playing. I don't want to be a "downer" but I do think a dose of realism would help a bit. If I was part of the dev team, I would have all (and prob more) of the same goals as they do, but I would "tier" the concepts, work with what is realistically possible, and go from there.
I wish EoC all the luck and success in the world but I see EoC being a F2P at best; sorry.

As we have said several times, the 2016 date is a very very conservative and safe guess. It is far too early to predict the actual release date and there are too many variables still floating around that could effect the date.
That said, everything we are doing is realistically possible, and we are working in tiers. Currently we're working on the investor prototype.
Thank you for your wishes of luck, even if you do not yet believe in us.
I like everything about the game except the full loot PvP. Unfortunatly for me and my friends I game with this is a no go for us. I do wish you all the best in funding and development.
I just dont do full loot PvP myself, but many people enjoy it and hopefully they will support you guys.

Thank you for the kind words. Perhaps one day you and your friends will decide to give full loot pvp a try and pay a visit to Caerus.

Its not that I do not believe in you guys, its just that I've had my "mmo heart" broken too many times. Once you guys have actual gameplay, rather than concepts, then I'll decide whether I believe or not. Any way you guys can have 3rd person gameplay?? I can't stand 1st person gameplay.

That feeling is something a lot of our core team members have experienced first hand, and we completely understand what you mean. I personally have a couple collectors editions to such heart breaks sitting in a box in my closet at this very moment. Completely reasonable for people to be wary - we will work our hardest to help overcome those feelings and prove ourselves and the game to everyone.
As for 3rd person camera, I'm afraid it just is not compatible with what we have planned for a large number of reasons.

Who said there were no rules?
If you paid them for that bit of information, you might want to get your money back:P

I do not mind full loot, but i hate fpv. For ne fpv is extremely unimmerseive like walking around with a box on my head.
