There are many ways to create a crafting framework in a game. I prefer something more complex that takes time to master. That may require the help of my friends or that may make me do some travelling in order to find my materials. Its the way that the game incorporates these elements that to me define a true MMO experience.

I would prefer a game world that offers longevity and depth of content. I want to play and log in to a game that gives me what I feel is a true MMO experience. I know that in 6 months from now what i can expect from Diablo 3. I know that the environments although randomly generated are still painted in a theme based on the act your playing in. This predictability is what takes away from that sense of wonder that a truly vast MMO world may offer.  I am not asking for an MMO with inconvenince. Balance is key.

To me this idea of incorporating more of D3 into an MMO is taking away the massive in MMO and catering to the masses. Theres alot of that going around lately, so if thats your thing..you likely won't have long to wait. Me, Im holding out for something that suites my MMORPG playstyle.

Eh, I'd wager D3 is considerably more dynamic than most MMORPG worlds.  In fact with how random the maps, events, rare quests, mobs, and mob behavior (ambushes, unusual packs) are, I'd be surprised if you could name a PVE MMORPG that's less predictable and still fun.  I've played plenty of PVE MMORPGs with vast worlds -- all of them were endless mob grinds which were overwhelmingly predictable because the mobs had barely any variety.

And thus far it feels just as rewarding of skill mastery as the best MMORPGs I've played.  It's an action MMORPG with strong tactical decision-making.

It's fine for you to prefer MMORPGs and all, but D3 definitely appears to offer way more variety, more dynamic play, and at least an equivalent amount of skill-mastery.

    1) The combat is deep and not predictable, at least for a while. There are so many builds you can try.

    2) 6 months is long enough. If you want something new & unpredictable, switch game. No one says you have to play the SAME GAME for years. Diablo is a great game, but i don't expect i will play it 2-3 years from now.

    3) Massive not always = fun. So what it is not massive. Most MMO gameplay is catered to solo/small group anyway. Fantasy adventures are fundamentally not massive. And yes, i like this kind of games way more than massive world games (haven't seen a good massive world game yet).
