Try EVE online. Community is by far the most helpful, and its pretty group based, whether you are gathering, PvPing or doing missions you typically run with a group from your corporation and there are plenty of new corps out there doing stuff for new guys.
I would say Vanguard, but wait for F2P, because the population is kinda low right now.
Go for Everquest 2! You will easily find people to do stuff with, at ALL levels! I have played well over 60 mmorpgs, and Everquest 2 is one of my favorites. Alot of stuff to do, with a great community (avoid lvl 1-9 chat, alot of trolls there)! Go go go!

City of Heroes
I'd say vanguard. Hopefully more people come if/when it goes ftp.
FFXI - they added some solo elements but overall its a purely group based PvE game. (there are some small pvp games though)

Join a respectful guild and turn off general / any troublesome global channels - you're now in a game with a good community.
Grouping will come naturally with a guild that isn't shit. Good luck!
