The title made you click, didn't it?
I am looking for a crafting orientated game, graphics should be good enough not to hurt my eyes - it can even be browser based i guess. The crafting can be grindy, though I would rather there be always is some goal (Guild city upgrades, quests etc)..
I would rather it was fantasy or scifi, i dislike post apocalyptic settings.
I am not fussy... combat is not an issue, nor is PvP as long as PvP is a core feature, however... I HATE meaningless PvP grind (*looks at WoW or AoC* ).
The last thing I would like to say: I would like the game to have a decent community. It doesn't need to be 10 million, but i would like to see more then 5 same faces every day.

EverQuest 2, perhaps. Good crafting for the most part, better than WoW's click a button and done-type crafting.
Vanguard would be your next best bet, though I can't say that you'd see more than your average 5 faces a day - this might be worth waiting for F2P for. The rest of the game is really good too. Just very quiet at the moment. I have hopes that F2P will bring it a spark of life.
Might I suggest EVE online?
It is a sci-fi mmo that is very PvP oriented but has tons of potential to craft, ie mine, manufacture, trade etc.
I second EVE.
Someone post that topology thingy so he can figure out what he would like to focus on.
Not sure what you are talking about there but he could check out
http://www.eveonline.com/sandbox/manufacturer/
and then ofc browse thru the other trades as well, also has like a questionairre on that page (personality test or something) that can help you figure what role you might like.
