Get into this PvP weekend. I think it'll be a total surpriser what this game can do in terms of PvP. It's possibly a game changer :)

A friend of mine just told me the same thing at lunch earlier today.  I guess we will find out during the beta event this weekend.

*sighs* I miss the old days of 5v3v8 in fusang... This 100v100v100 will take some getting used to image

Its absolutely enthralling lol this is some od the most fun since DAoC and pre shadowlands AO notum wars! AND from personal sources, fusabg is only the first of quite a few planned fvfvf persistents! Kudos FC! But most of all, KUDOS Ragnar for leading the project and team!

Nice - thanks for the link. Haven't played the Fusang Project yet; it looks damn nice, and I'm impressed by how smooth it is :)

    This looks ridiculous.

Kinda the same thing as in wow where the players who win the bg gets a buff, but this battleground looks fucking huge.

So, I haven't been in the CB for long and havent been able to play a truckload of time like many have around here. Either way I can't talk about previous CB experiences so I decided to log in today and see what, if anything, had changed.

With that said. Im not sure what to make of pvp in this game yet. I was in the pvp queue for BGs for probably 3 hours. Never went in....I ask in the general chat and people tell me there are too many times only one or two folks dominate a match because of "their build". They keep one and two shotting folks, I have no clue how can a "build" do something like that, to me it sounds more like simple gear based pvp. Or maybe the outer skills in the wheel are ubber powerfull, idk.

Fusang, tried that too. Unfortunately didn't enjoy it one bit....At first there was one guy camping spawn point and did away with me in maybe two hits. There were people in my team but for some reason no one talked back so I could not get any help. After a while more folks spanwed so I was able to move on, hoping to get some pvp action post NDA. Well, turns out it was the same thing. Two shotted here, one shotted there. Either I have the worst "build" in the game or everyones has better gear than me. I suspect the latter.

Still, I expect they have something up their sleeves for the OB. At the very least I hope folk queue up for the BGs...

Remember if you just got into CB your PvP'ing against people who have been in CB for months and have QL10 everything which makes a huge difference. Our CB characters are not in the BWE's so this weekends PvP will be people who have only had a few weekends to play and are not geared out which should provice a better experience if your just starting.

But thats ridiculous....only the higher tier folks will be able to pvp in this game??? its ok for OB cause everyone is in the same field and even then if you start playing on sunday there are folks who will have played all weekend long, how do you keep it competitive then?

Im sure you know what I mean. Not making it a gear grind were only people who got the better gear win, no skill just gear. And while Im not saying this is what the game is, there is definately some issues. Of course if you like this kind of pvp, you are one of the folks on the winning end of the stick and you wont mind the clusterfuck that is gear based pvp image

Character ranks / Gear will matter, this is ...RPG afterall. There are tons of games without any char ranks / gear, where only player skill matters, falling into the multiplayer FPS shooter genre.

RGP does not mean gear. There are many other ways to have progression....either way, I understand there are folks who like this kind of stuff. I am still not sure if it is a gear fest or not, it might just be unbalance or bugs since I know there is supposed to be some sort of normaliztion that is supposed to happen at least in BGs.

Drastically different scenario. It's much more rare in MMORPGs.

With that being said though, I'm glad for the PS2 Beta and want it to hurry the hell up.

.. But in a good way.

Epic!! Guys, I just pulled an all-nighter :D. And I tell you Funcom have not decided how many that will be able to play in one massive PvP field yet. The engine seem to be able to withhold an enormous amount of activity. Don't be surprised if the 100 vs 100 vs 100 will be expanded to even larger numbers... 150 vs 150 vs 150 in example :P

Really fun, and actually, that the setting is reallife does not matter that much for me as a typical high  fantasy player, because the whole setting is quite magic and mystical anyways. good fun...

It would be nice if you had a video instead. 100v100v100 is nice but i've seen much larger fight in DAoC so it doesn't impress me to much. Still its nice to see people getting out and PvPing instead of carebearing.

When the game goes live fusang is for players of a certain faction rank / gear QL only.

They just let us access it from "level1" in based beta for testing purposes.

They can't really let newbs go in there live as ownership of the facilities is connected to a society wide token distribution system. There would be too much temptation to flood it with low powered chars of another faction to farm the weekly token distribution.

The two battlegrounds are ranked by gear level and are accessible after half an hours play.
