Alliance - moving from gw1 to gw2

exanimoexanimo Member UncommonPosts: 1,301

here is the situation.

guild wars 1 alliance with 10 guilds each guild with 100 members.

wants to move into guild wars2 what we can do ?

option 1 - each guild creates their own guild, and each members adds the other guilds of the alliance to their guilds rooster, but since we can only represent one guild at a time , leaves not much meaning for having a alliance like this ...

option 2 - we create a guild with 1000 members , and have the other guild slots on the guilds rooster empty for random guilds that might lead into a new style of recruiting.

are you guild or alliance leader or have a opinion on this matter , ...

what are you going to do with your gw1 alliance ?

Pretty sure there will be alliances. Maybe not right at launch, but for sure a little time into the game. They also said in several interviews that they want to make the Guid system have as much features as possbile. They dont want people that come from other games to think "omg why is this not avaible". Alliances is pretty basic so it should be in at launch.

Guild limits are going to be raised, so I would say just wait for final info on guild mechanics.

Having lead a few guilds in the past, my opinion is: why would you want a 1000 person guild?

Ignoring my thoughts on the matter, I think it would come down to what the leadership wants to do. How is leadership going to work if you combine all the guilds into one? How much drama is it going to create (if any)? How will it be better or worse for the members of the guild?

Personally, I would probably leave it split up into the individual guilds, as guild chat would quickly turn into one of those things that I would filter out completely. 1000 people just seems like WAY too many people. Good luck figuring it all out though.
