I just recently came back to the MMO genre after being away for a while. I was an avid FFXI player. I've also played Shadowbane, EQ, EQ 2, Vanguard, SWG, Diablo 3, Rift, GW, WoW, Entropia, LoTRO, most of the big named games.
I am looking for preferably a fantasy type game with a big playerbase. Most games now are solo and that is the opposite of what I'm looking for. I'm also against asian style games like Perfect world or anime style games. The games I played the most was FFXI, WoW, Diablo 3, Entropia.
FFXIV is too solo for me and I'm turned off by that. I would prefer a P2P than a F2P or freemium. I was looking at TSW but not sure what to expect. I also know GW2 is coming out but hesitant.
So group play, fantasy, non anime, full zones less instance.
I'm not sure a game exists but I would be grateful if someone can point me in the right direction. A bonus would be player housing or guild housing,
Time to fix this genre.

There is no game out there that will top any of the games you have already tried. You have already tried all of the "high-playerbase/worth-playing" mmos. All downhill from there.

Looks like your just burnt out on the current genre.
August 28th... wont come soon enough.
you could try TSW but ive had close to a decade of horrible experience with funcom so wont be buying any more of their titles for a long time.. not to mention im a traditional fantasy fan myself.. moderns not for me.
Tera, you'll like it, a nice change from the old MMO's you've played.
Rift, is pretty refreshing too, loads of things to do, massive player base.
Guild Wars 2 when it's released.
TSW probably isn't what you are looking for....Most people solo it as the main emphasis is on the story line....It just doesn't set up all that well as a grouping game......I'd say stick with WoW, EQ2, RIft something along those lines.
GW2 should be fairly intesting to see how it ends up with group content. It takes a come-and-go approach to grouping which really takes away part of the community in getting to know your groups, however it does make strides to eliminate the hassle of finding a group etc.
It has scaling content which sounds really appealing, but hopefully it doesn't just translate to more HP on the mobs and more 1-shotting/rezzing etc.
Aside from that, grouping is a dying art I'm afraid
