I don't see the issue, there appears to be quite a lot of non-revealing armor (which I like best, hate the bikinis), and you can choose between a large number of different body types that definitely don't all go for the "anorectic model with melons" look
Feel free to use my referral link for SW:TOR if you want to test out the game. You'll get some special unlocks!
I don't see the point in discussing this here. Do you hope to change someones mind? This is hardly a place to discuss social issues.
And for the record I'm all for equality but I think the feminist movement is a joke. Just have a beer and relax people
The number 1 reason people post on internet forums, or the "purpose," is to rant one's opinion and boost one's own ego. Very often, people don't care if anything greater is accomplished. As long as most people get to walk away from their keyboards feeling they are right or that they somehow "won" the conversation, they're happy.
Fundamental problem of forums: the longer and more thoughtful a post is, the less likely it is to be read by anybody.
The less clothes they have on the more beating they can take. This is a embarrassment to the Warrior Class who is fully decked out with shield..("Wimps")..
Give me my busty blonde bikini armor babe with a gigantic two handed sword any day of the week!!!!!!! The Raving Rabbid will teach them how to dance!!!!!!
All my opinions are just that..opinions. If you like my opinions..coolness.If you dont like my opinion....I really dont care. Playing: ESO, WOT, Smite, and Marvel Heroes

Someone obviously haven't played Tera, now oversexualized is a understatement for that game. GW2 has many clothing options but none really stood out like in many Asian MMOs.

Unfortunately (or not) there is no bikini armor in the game

Out of your mind!! As a female gamer this is the first game that I have ever felt represented REAL female body types and gave us the ability to look and feel NATURAL!
Warriors and adventurers wouldn't wear tailor made skin tight brightly colored outfits, male or female. They wouldn't be in perfect shape or live in a world where fat cells don't exist and bodies are ageless. Our culture is pathetically superficial to the point of absurdity.

I haven't seen that piece in action yet although it's in lots of promotion videos. Fortunately I haven't seen any kind of skimpy heavy armor yet, and I hope there isn't any, I can understand it on light armor but never on heavy :P

I think GW2 does a great job in giving people choices. regardless if it is heavy armor or light clothing, you can cover completely up or show a lot of skin. Some outfits are frilly and sexy and some appear very functional, even frumpy.. The reason this is great is because different people like different things. You choose which armor set you want to hold on too for the look and everyone else can do the same. I am sure some mesmers will want to not only cast spells but also look sexy and mesmerizing. On the other hand a thief completely covered from neck to foot in dark colors is also easily done.
No matter what the game I think a toon should be wearing gear that is remotely appropriate for what they will be taking part in. Being a maie or female shouldn't allow the gear to deviate. Sorry Tera the gear that the female characters wear I wouldn't deem appropriate in most cases. I don't think I would want to get into a sword fight wearing bra and panties I think my vitals would be a bit to exposed.
Arenanet could of done away with the awkward female human starting outfits for Ele, Mesmer and Necro, and replace it with something a little more modest? I mean the 'light armor' starting outfit looks more goofy/silly than hawt.
It simply comes down to the fact that it's the style of Guild Wars franchise; a somewhat of a mix of western and Korean-ish MMO style.... you know what I mean. They do what they want.
No. This game offers enough variety to everyone. People have a choice of what to wear. Personally, I couldn't care less, whether this game has naked females running around or nuns, its just pixels.
I'm different to the whole sexuality since I see it more from the stand point of artwork ( ' .' )b. Games like Tera, I do enjoy looking at...I see the lil bunny girl race " Elin" as cute and not pedo at all. As for the Poll : I voted for ( . Y . ) FTW!

So what would be appropriate gear for two people fighting each other with magical spells?
And why should the gear be realistic when the fighting itself is not?
It's all a matter of choise (like IRL), there's less revealing outfits already in game but also keep in mind that cosmetics are a major source of income from the gems shop (no I'm not complaining about it, I actually like the business model and don't have any problems with any of the items that were in the shop during the 2 BWE's so far) and aestethically pleasing armor obtainable in game is one of the most desirable items; so I'm sure plenty new designs will keep on getting added.
We all want to see anorexic girls wearing full plate armor, great shields, warhammers, doing acrobatic moves while running at full speed, jumping from ledges and swimming.
That would be realistic. Not girls wearing binkini armors. Right ?
I voted for boobies btw.
Think the bikini girl would destroy the full plate one easily in a duel, she can't move.
The next MMO will be awesome. Until people reach the end game.
I would expect women in a fantasy setting to be dressing the part. That means fully armoured. However, strength being a limiting factor, women would be armoured less to allow for more mobility...unless your Breanne from Game of Thrones (they did such on awesome job on casting her to match book).

More choices, not less.

Well, pixels for one, pixels for two and well I mean people should chill out some. But hey its all good in the hood I say
Not any more than IRL no.
