You get 72 hours of play and if you complete 30 quests within that 72 hours you get essentially one DLC's worth of pts for free to buy something with too.
Even if you don't have time in your life for another MMO (I'm in the same boat), I highly recommend you play through for the story. It takes about 2 weeks to get through what's in the core game (up to issue 5, not talking about massive edition) then roughly about a day a piece for each DLC after that.
It's still mostly a glorified single player game that is more about yourself and a friend or two coop-ing through if you'd like but is still more solo than MMO. The MMO only rears its head in the endgame where there's standard dungeon grinding and gearing which isn't required to progress further if you're just a casual story player.

This game is definitely worth trying out, and (in my opinion) worth the $30 for the full game. It has weeks worth of content, your fighting style is incredibly customizable, and the storyline keeps you interested throughout the game.
