No wonder. The second they started allowing macros and gamefile hacks that game was doomed. The only people you see in game now are afk. Funny thing is, I never cheated in any game except that one. It's insanely boring if you don't cheat. Here's how fights go:

    Press F5

    Fight Starts

    Press F5 to attack

    Wait for attacks to resolve

    Press F5 to attack

    End of fight

Press F5 to start another fight.

So how does one make a macro? You don't need one! You just tape down your F5 key and hurray!

A game that had potential, but they just made it too boring and too easy to cheat.

The graphics are quite nice. Nothing state of the art, but good prerendered backgrounds, they're very good if you like Isometrix-style graphics (I do). There are several things to do in the game. Your character doesn't level, it's all about pets. You can compare it to a different pokemon styled game.

You start the game with a turtle. You go out hunting monsters that you can capture and raise to become your pets. Each monster has a certain growth rate (stats received when it levels up). For example, a pet with a growth rate of 4 would gain 4 stats everytime it leveled. This is what the primary challenge of the game is: Getting a pet with the highest growth rate. Because a pet can go up to level 1200, the difference between 4 stats a level and 6 stats a level is quite huge. You have the ability to evolve pets into stronger versions or merge 2 pets together as many times as you want to create the ultimate pet.

Besides pets, there's not much to the game. It's very very addictive though, and the game WILL get you hooked if you like the pet raising idea. It's just too bad they invented a combat system the way it is now: In most MMO's, you go out hunting monsters. In M&M, monsters don't spawn. They initiate combat in the old console Final Fantasy style way: The screen looks empty, but suddenly you enter turn based combat with monsters. This leads to a very simple combat system as I demonstrated in my earlier post.

My advice: If you like pets, give the game a try. You'll definitely be hooked for a while, but it won't be long before the high, high high number of AFKers start getting on your nerves - they'll level at least 5 times as fast.
