Thank you Sir!

Here is some information about the motion capturing system they use at XLGAMES:
Xsens MVN!
Is .. that .. the Cry Engine? or a CG rendered video .. /confuse
If it is the engine alone, I don't know what else to say ...

Recognize the voice? Yep sounds like Penny Arcade's Extra Credits.

Fido posted this over on AA souce...
This trailer is CryEngine3 based and uses the motion capturing system Xsens MVN which is also used for the improved character and monster animations in CBT5. A demonstration can be found in this video:

The video you mention is a demonstration of real footage .. vs computer vector graphics .. vs actual computer footage. The actual computer graphics footage isn't all that great in the video.
The mentioned trailer for ArcheAge may be Cry Engine 3 based, but I kind of am having doubts that those graphics could be rendered in real time, even if the whole game went on pause just to do the graphics of 1 NPC. That being said, it probably doesn't matter that it is Cry 3 based at all, or some other random CG program (essentially rendering 1 frame at a time in slow motion, collecting and playing frames back to back fast, like a Pixar movie). The demo video you linked shows that the graphics output in real time is not that great (cartoony).
Don't get me wrong, I liked the detail, but nobody should expect that quality of detail in the actual game (or any game), at least not in real time.
Correct if inaccurate?
