Worlds in WvW are matched up based on their ranking using a modified Glicko rating, so that high-ranked worlds will battle other high-ranked worlds, and low-ranked worlds will battle other low-ranked worlds. This ensures that every world has a fair chance of winning matches despite differing levels of player participation or skill.
On Potbs X-Teaming was when a player joined another server or had a clan member join another server in order to afk, or retreat/surrender when multiple ships came into pvp combat, and it starts going wrong for them.
Lets say, the cash shop price for competitave pvp servers is going to cost around 25$ everytime the WvW teams change. Do you think certain people or guilds will pay this out to get an extra advantage on pvp.
For Instance,Lets say we are defending Erie and we have 200 supplies but we havn't had enough time to reinforce walls, so the x-teamer says i'll repair the walls while you guys hold off the attackers on the wall. Right now 1x10 supply will refill about 10k damage. He decides not to repair because he's not really on your team? Or A X-Teamer says i'll watch the gates from the canon of a fully decked out castle 10 gold+ Depending on Siege Equipment inside, and his guild buddies start attacking the castle long before defenders can come, they might be fighting a mock battle at Greenvale.
Do you think this will be a big problem for competitave guilds/servers on gw2? Or will the high cost price discourage that to go to higher population servers?

Anyone who is willing to pay 25$ to "hop" servers, be my guest
Also high-pop server might suffer from WvW queues way worse than medium-pop servers, if anything, people/guilds will move away from the high-pop / top-servers to enjoy the WvW.
Lets say realm change is cheap and costs you $10. Its not gonna be an issue vs smaller servers since they are easy enough to beat anyways. In that case to get any sizable impact by x-teaming youd want to send at least 1000 players over which is $10,000. If youve got that much money to waste why not use it to lure some good WvW guilds to your server and win that way?
I've found in times when they wern't peak hours in CBWE's that a group of 4 people could easily take checkpoints, supply camps, and with a catapult setup in the right area even the smaller castles. However I think that might change once players have cash flow coming in, and they can reinforce their walls and losing means more.
There will always be troll players in any game. And if not troll players, then players who are so terrible at the game that they may as well be on the enemy team, even if they have good intentions.
Nothing you can ever do about this except accept it as a part of life for both sides. This is one of the many reasons people team up with players they can count on in multiplayer games.
gw1 was an elitist heaven!gw2 will be more of the same .wvwvw or not.there are a lot of theorycrafter at work right now to find the proper optimal way to farm everything the fastest!yes i know arenanet say no need to theorycraft ,any having played arenanet game know that if you dont theorycraft you arent at the top of the ranking lather!
I guess, because of pricing it wont be that big of a deal. I'll probally still sit the first month out and gather money and fashion. I want to look good when I kill my prey lmao.
when you change servers there is a cooldown timer placed on WvW. you wont be able to participate (i think its 7 days). Anet implemted it for the very reason you list in your OP.
I didn't know this it isn't in the wiki/wikia, it kinda had me worried. I guess this tread can be close now.
Its not just Arenanet games, its in every single Competitive game out there that exists.
If you don't theorycraft you aren't playing at the best that you can. In LOL you can play any character you want, and play it any way you want, but you will not be playing efficiently and when against good players you will be at the bottom of the food chain.
In RIFT, if you don't theory craft your class, you aren't pulling out DPS numbers that matters, same in SWTOR, same in any single Game that has any sort of an PVP, even in just pure PVE you got players theorycraft to beat the raid bosses quicker, faster, more efficiently.
Sure you can play anyway you want, you can try to beat this raid boss after 50 wipes, but eventually, you will learn from your 50 wipes and figured out a way to beat it in 20 wipes and less, thats theorycrafting, thats learning. And eventually you just became an elitist when you found that other guild that is still doing it after 50 wipes and you laugh at them for their stupidity because you have finally figured out how to do it in 3 wipes.
There will always be players that understands their characters and skill combos that is better than you, I was fighting against an Warrior with my Warrior in the Structured PVP and he totally killed me, even when we were same level, using the same weapons, the guy just knows how to play his warrior better than me. But thats just the first time I went into SPVP, if i practice and learn my character better after a few more death, I will become better than others.
Thats the benefits of Competition, we learn from our mistakes and gets better.
Yes we will get the same crowd of players who thinks they are the best of the best, but soon those same players will be replaced by others if they become stagant. Thats what everyone is looking forward to.
