Need help to gain more fps for sieges.

My older computer just died, so i decided to go buy a low budget tower that only costed 80$. Its a

Pentium 4. 2 GB, 3.0 ghz + Ati 9600 256mb. This is just enough for small scale with around 20-40 players. When there's no players around me, i stand at 30 fps and a max of 50.

What else do i need to make sieges playable at lowest setting possible and 800-600 resolution? What i want, more fps. On my older computer, when i was alone, i had 100+ fps. For sieges, it was just enough to do everything. I was still playing at 800-600 resolution and i don't mind that.

What i'm already planning to do is to get 4 GB rams. I currently have 2, my older computer had 3.

What the hell. With those specs you will be lucky enough to even load the game. In no imaginable way you will increase FPS with that ancient rig lol. Even if you get 16GB of ram, it won't change anything as those GPU and CPU are so ancient that they will bottleneck you to 30fps or less.

    WOW that is old stuff...

Well for starters Darkfall does not like ATI stuff, so maybe swapping out for a cheap nvidia alt would get you a few extra fps.. also if you can overclock that cpu then go ahead and get as much out of it as possible..

as for in game settings make sure shadows are off, thats the main fps killer..

Other than that the only other bit of advise i can give you is throw that PC out the windows and buy a proper gaming rig :)
