Maybe cause the info is too old? Info like race skills. Job skill descriptions. Lore and quest info. 

I was thinking about going ranger but i hear that may not be free past 20? If that is the case im going to have a hard time deciding what job to pick let alone what race too.

How is the pvp in this game? Is there pvp?

no pvp..

they pulled the pvp servers and stated they would only ever return if a large amount of players suddenly showed back up out of nowhere and they wanted them.

Look at the bright side, it will be much more rewarding finding out stuff for yourself and by talking and adventuring with others .. if you can find any heheh. If you ignore the fact that its never going to grow with expansions (which I can't), Vanguard is a true oldschool game with modern graphics and features.. and beats most games released since then (2004).
