• Your accounts need to be linked:
• Happens during GW2 account creation or later on under account management
• If successful, each of your GW2 characters recieves a Hall of Monuments Portal Stone
• Use the Portal Stone to transport yourself to Eye of the North and talk to Kimmes the Historian
• He will provide you with a list of rewards you can claim
• Use the Portal Stone to transport yourself back to where you were

As a note, those of us who registered GW2 without linking our GW1 account at the time of registration beause of the promise you could do it in the future..... still don't have that option.

 

So, figure out what GW1 account you are linking before your register and do it at the time of registration, so that 'in the future' is not 'after launch'.

also the rewards calculator has been down since at least last night. I checked then because I added 2 more points last minute and wanted to check the total.. but no go.. cannot look up any character.

Eh, 2 days (most of today and all of tomorrow), but no, you still get an instant 3 points for having an account linked, so the information is still useful.

it is also possible to get some last minute points.. like the new warfarer's reverie questline they added. I was at 33 pts 1 week ago and am now up to 40(ocd.. couldnt leave it at an odd number!)

Yes they did! and No they did not!

Here you will find several people posting what they've been told by customer service (me included) where they say both it will be done before headstart and they say it won't be done until after headstart.

I did that by contacting ANet's support, they asked me a buckload of questions but everything got done smoothly in less than a day.

But now it seems they're not doing it anymore. Guess I'm the only exception

I logged a support ticket for it as well over a month ago and received as a reply that they couldn't do it for me and that the account management page wasn't quite ready yet but that I didn't have to worry because the feature would be available and I wouldn't loose all my points becuase I forgot to link. 

Was an extremely fast and very friendly worded response but am still waiting for any word on how to actually link them (like many others).
