Okay all...convince me to play this game as I generally dont like fantasy mmo's. While I've done some research into this game itwon't equal some ppl's knowledge here on the website. I generally don't let hype sway any decisions. If you don't like this game please don't post. Btw I never played the 1st one.
Im already seeing typical negative posts shortly after launch.......
All my opinions are just that..opinions. If you like my opinions..coolness.If you dont like my opinion....I really dont care.

There's stuff to do, and things. Read up a bit more; maybe watch some videos and form an opinion of your own. You're only going to get mixed responses here.
Not a very good time to ask for convincing to like the game, considering that the people that like it are MOSTLY playing it right now. This question would have gotten more responses on another day I'm betting.

War hammer online taught me a vvaluable lesson to never buy into hype. Good thing I beta TSW as I didn't like the way that game is done. I did look at a few videos online and the only words that came out were..it ok. I'm looking to get other peeps opinions to something I might have overlooked on websites or gameplay.

Look through the features list, think to yourself whether or not it sounds appealing, then after watching videos of some of those features at work, decide whether they seem good enough to warrant a purchase.
If by the end you're still like "ehhhh", hold off for a while and wait for reviews or something.
A sure sign that you are in an old, dying paradigm/mindset, is when you are scared of new ideas and new technology. Don't feel bad. The world is moving on without you, and you are welcome to yell "Get Off My Lawn!" all you want while it happens. You cannot, however, stop an idea whose time has come.
People can change their minds or may become interested. What I'm looking for are people directly playing the game now and getting their opinions. There is no need to be insulting.

very bad idea to judge TsW from the beta, because there were great improvements on release anyway, what are you looking for?
Fun PvP, off the shelf kill x click x PvE, no raids, cartoon animals, fantasy, cheap voice acting and lackluster story, go GW2
Fun PvE, mediocre PvP, survival horror/adventure feeling, great story and voices, incredibly innovative dungeon mechanics, go TSW
or wait for Planetside2 or WorldofDarkness
1 - Longevity. Your level is scaled by the area you are in making alts a choice and not a requirement to see the content you missed. You can eventually level every craft to max. When you switch your "main" craft it freezes your previous craft level if you come back to it.
2 - Sharing. No KSing as both quests and DEs are public. Everyone is working towards the same goal. This bleeds into everyone being able to revive and abilities having a lot of AoE effects for those around you. You'll solo with 2-10 people a lot lol. The economy is shared by all servers and you can place but/sell orders so a business savvy person could have a lot of fun.
3 - Jetstreams. There are static points of interest on the maps for you to seek out, less as the levels get higher, but there will be events and other happenings that will pop up pulling you here and there. These are the Dynamic Events and called so because many are multi-stagged and have an effect depending on outcome. Let, or can't stop, the centaurs from attacking an outpost? It turns to a centaur camp and you have to help the guards defeat them and hold off waves until the guards rebuild the structure.
I played for about seven hours last night and they flew by. It's a fun game that emmerses you but if you don't like fantasy that might not matter. The setting can be easily judged by videos though. Check out Aerowyn's sticky on videos, there are a lot of good ones.
Ty sir this is is the kind of info I am looking for. I wish some of the other posters could learn from you.

If you dont enjoy fantasy MMOs or your bored of them I'd stay clear of GW2. This is the exact reason I likely wont be bothering with it. They have to pay me to level up a toon looking the way they do. I'll go play WoW or with my daughters barbies if I want my fix lol
