Is there a reason to play or should we wait.

I'm firing up the game again today.  My question is what is going to happen to my character once the next patch comes out.  I'm not sure what all will be changed but if it's supposed to be a huge game changing patch will my char just be useless or...hell i guess they wouldnt do that but I dont know what im really trying to ask.

 

Oh and how friggin confusing can they make the account page on their site...I've never in my life had so much trouble trying to give someone my money.

 

Anywho thats my rant / question.

I do like a lot of what the current team has done with 1.0.  I've logged in only to log back out.  I'm at a point where my only options are achievement hunting, attempting to get a group together to do raids to battle the RNG or just level up classes that aren't level 50 yet.

 

I don't feel like spending a lot of time trying to put together a full group.

I don't feel like grinding out exp or gil.  The grind to 50 isn't bad, but it is boring.

I don't feel like achievement hunting as it doesn't do anything for me.

I don't feel like "preparing" my character for 2.0 as I am debating starting from scratch.

 

Simply put, if you didn't find 1.0 all that entertaining before, than just wait.  Unless of course were willing to put up with underwhelming content.  At 50, things get far more interesting with raids, instances, job quests and what not.... but most of that content requires a full group which can be a headache to put together.  Your mileage may vary.

 

All character data will be tranferred over to 2.0 so all progress and what not should go with it.  Though, things like inventory space and storage are being re-designed and rethought.
