i believe its the same thing that makes other games enjoyable: a large selection of weapons and they look damn kool. seriously, everquest has big shiney weapons, so does diablo 2, daoc has glowie weapons. i remember when playin d2 trading weapons was sooo much fun, seeing all the "holy shit is that for real?!?" weapons. i dunno, i though it was kool, heh. thats just my theory though, its could be the fast paced clicking action! everquest i just cant explain the attraction...

i had nightmares for weeks after the first time i played diablo, with the butcher chsing me around and all. d2 wasnt scary and i like the acts, but it is getting old.
If they ever make another diablo game I also hope its an MMORPG. I dont get why they decided to make an mmorpg based on warcraft. starcraft or diablo mmorpg's would have been better. I also dont like how world of warcraft looks like. all the models are fat and blocky. It's 2004, we got hardware that can render graphics better than that. eg. (lineage II , everquest II )
Think about it: Blizzard's next 2 games are almost nothing like their foundation in the gaming business. They started off making strategy games, and are keeping warcraft for profit purposes. But i think they're moving on to other game types, which means a MMORPG starcraft. I think it wont come out until we're all sick of WoW though

I think D3 would be an AWESOME idea! However, it would be hard to make it interesting being that it seems like D2 squeezed all the ideas out of them already. I mean, what else can you do to add on to the game? Hmm, lets see. There's more items, more to the story, but otherwise, i suppose that's it. I would definitely buy and play it though if D3 were to come out. I think it would take a few years before it comes out though being that they are just releasing WoW and not even know if Starcraft 2 is coming out or not.
maybe its cause im still playing d2 and the exp off n on but i for one think that a Diablo 3 title would be well worht an aforementioned wait...blizzard has a great past game history and continues to support already released titles with a vigor not often seen by most mmog'ing dev's. is D3 a myth...only time will tell!

The story line is destoryed. What wouls be the maine enemy. The hero killed mephisto, diablo, and baal. How cna you call a game diablo when diablo would never be in it? It is easy to expand on WC and SC becasue you cna introduce new enemys and heroes. You can't imcorporate these elements into the world of diablo.
Blizzard does have plans for a sc2, but they are busy working on WoW and SC ghost so you will have to wait a little bit. I, however, think that the diablo saga is done. I can't see a diablo 3 in the future.
Well, you never know. They can have Baal try to get out of Hell and have to kill him along with Mephisto like what happened with Diablo. Besides, I'm sure they'll be able to come up with other demons. Demons are in so many shapes and forms in so many different religion and cultures that it's not even funny. I'm sure they will be able to incorporate a few of those if they ever think of coming out with a Diablo 3.

You must not have looked at the storyline of Diablo II: Lord of Destruction. Remember what happened after you defeated Baal?
Tyrael destroys the Worldstone. At the end of Act IV, I think (Don't hold me to that, I'm not sure where or when.), Tyrael warns you of the concequences of destroying the Worldstone or having it corrupted by Baal. Big plotline open there.
So the Three's Soulstones have been destroyed, big deal. What happened to Tyrael? What happens after the Worldstone is destroyed? Surely there have to be stronger demons than Baal.
A sequel to Diablo 2: Lord of Destruction is plausible, speaking from a lore point-of-view, but I don't see Blizzard doing it, practically. The Diablo series is notorious for its massive cheating, and it just wouldn't make sense to put up with another round of that.
All in all: Fiction...at least not in the next 6 years.

I mean, I found Starcraft to be very good, but I found there other titles to range from Mediocre (Diablo 1 &2) to honestly dramatically bad/boring (Warcraft 3)....
A question of taste of course ButI seem to hear most people saying Blizzard is the top while there are (IMHO) far better developers on the market (Bioware kicks arse! ).
So, to get to my question, what is it that attracts people in Blizzard's games (or: where am I basically wrong? )
I'm a big fan of diablo two and if a third were to come out than it would reach the top of the charts in a second. judging on how many people practically worship the first two games, Blizzard should consider making a third if they are not already.
Personally, I didn't really care for Diablo or Diablo 2 all that much. Sure the graphics were nice, and the interface was good, and even the RPG system wasn't all that bad. But the game was basically just one endless hack and slash and hack and slash and by the end I was so sick of it. The storyline was good, but it would have been nice if there had been more story development besides the cutscenes between the chapters. Of all the Blizzard games I've played I think the Diablo series is my least favorite. I enjoyed Starcraft and Warcraft III much more, and WOW looks amazing! I really couldn't care if they never do another Diablo game, Starcraft Galaxies all the way!!! Oh... I wonder if they'd get into trouble with that name...
