just to agree with lots of other people....... Starcraft is the only really good thing that blizzard has made. Warcraft was ok but its more of a squad combat game than a traditional RTS (Starcraft, Age of Empires)... Diablo is just boring... Ok lets go click on lots of weird meanies... great... D3 would just be a waste of the developers time and a huge sinkhole for money.

I have to agree with the orriginal post in that Diablo 3 will be sweet. Several of the other posts said that they thought Diablo 2 sucked. A lot of people still play that game, even though a lot of them are cheating and stuff. Its still fun. Diablo 3, if it ever comes out, will probably be just as successful.
WOW and Starcraft: Ghost are taking up a lot of their resources, which is understandable. I guess we could look at those games as somewhat of an indication of how well Blizzard is doing and that could show us how they will continue to do in the future, on such things as D3.
We can only hope that they will make a MMORPG out of Diablo. I guess it doesn't have much unique to it from the tons of other fantasy mmorpgs, but I bet it would still be pretty good. By the time that they get around to it who knows where technology will be at, it could be pretty sweet stuff.
The only problem I would see with Diablo 3 is how to construct a meaning full story line that already fits the one previous. In Diablo you kill diablo but do not vanquish the soul stone, thus, he is able to return in diablo 2 allowing a progression in the story line by making the other two brothers a force in the game. However, in Diablo 2 you obtain two of the soul stones, that of diablo and mephisto. You end up smashing their stones on the hell forge essentially vanquishing them.
I guess Blizzard will release Diablo 3. They did leave a part in the story able to sustain another game. In the end when you kill Baal the world starts to collapse and Tyriel mentions that the world is no longer stable. So you could see an expansion along the lines of this. A shaky world where all you do is beat back hordes of evil that might mean to spill over the rift now that the world stone is shattered. I only see a problem with this...what is the major agressor? Basically all three evil entities are dead so what is there to fight?
I think if Blizzard is able to patch something up with that then a Diablo 3 is plausable. Diablo 2 didn't suck either...it was quite good at the beginning. It is just over time patches killed it. Recently the 1.1 patch. I think if they didn't play with the game so much it would have just been another people play.

Starcraft 2 would be nice, but it would neet to keep the Use Map Settings tradition of the original Starcraft, as for the story line its easy to continue it because SC: BW ends in Raynor and Zeratul going in different directions and rebuilding their races.
As for Diablo 2 the story line ended there, when you kill baal, and I presume you smash his soulstone. Diablo 3 would have to continue having a Diablo, which would be hard to understand.
Me and my friends often had the conversation about the D3 storyline, and we've come up with different ideas, one could be the making of another soulstone out of the shards of the worldstone or Tyrael being the master brain, after all he gave the soulstones to the Horadrim, and for what I see he could have simply killed Diablo and his brothers, because if not, then it would come out that the heroes are stronger than him, and they would be later corrupted, thus slaying Tyrael, because as someone said (I forgot the name) "Power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely". So in Diablo 3 we could have Tyrael as the main chaos maker, and he could free Diablo and his brothers from hell and unleash them, and so on.

It's not that the world was falling apart. When tyreal destroyed the worldstone, and you teleport back to the barbarian village. The whole place was shaking cause of a bug between the teleporting from the worldstone to the village. He destroyed the worldstone to stop it from being fully corrupted after baal was defeated, and so the hordes of demons could not cross over.
After that, with the prime evils gone, it just talk about how people just have to rebuild from all the chaos that had happened while the evils were loose. Although they did leave the storyline somewhat open... So there could possibly be a Diablo 3.
Probably something to do withthe shattered world stone,and or Tyreal somehow being corrupted or something.But I would not hold my breath on that game. Considering they expect WoW to be their new brainchild and money maker, "Which i personally w ill not think will be all that great." Diablo 3 if they do make one will be more than 5 years in the making or more.
As For WoW... by the time that gets out on the shelf and ready to sell the graphics will already be outdated and played by people that still think orignial Warcraft is awsome heh.

Diablo and Diablo 2 never rated to be called an "MMORPG". The storyline sucked, the replay value sucks(better in diablo two, but still...sucks) Hell, it's nothing more than a hack and slash that calls itself an RPG.
In other words I'd rather be playing Starcraft or some other game rather than Diablo

Actually i was talking to my friends uncle recently at his graduation party and they plan on finishing up WoW and SC Ghost then moving onto a Starcraft 2, he also mentioned that Blizzard is releasing a new series of games, but i couldn't get any info on them from him "SECRETS!!!"

Diablo is dead, end of question, he's been killed in 2 games, and he won't return. The only way to make a Diablo 3 is if some other even HIGHER force than Baal, comes and revives Diablo (and Baal maybe), which won't happen. Like the first guy said.... Diablo 2 killed the series, there is no way for a 3rd one
I agree a Starcraft 2 should be made before Diablo 3. Of course with WoW coming out soon who really wants to play Diablo 3? I'd rather be in a massive world with my friends and guild together in the same game, then meet on a b.net channel and coordinate only 8 friends max to play in a game name that you type over and over. Then you wait for them all to join, trying to whisper them in the meantime. WoW will be like Diablo and Warcraft mixed together.
At one time, it was an idea or a possibility put forth. Of the current state, not likely, but crazy stuff does happen. Never had been a fan of RTS, I did play Diablo alot and for all the bad rep I am seeing, it was a good game for what it was and it has given me countless hours of fun. If anything, I have yet to see a game come close to replay value as that game has done. Its a corner stone game that everyone still uses to compare other games with, for better or worse. So if there was ever a Diablo 3 game put out, I would play it considering the history of the game series.
Well its just my opinion of course but I would have much rather seen a Diablo 3 mmorpg rather then a warcraft one.
Now im not saying that wow wont be a great game, but I simply think the Diablo world was the best thing Blizzard ever came up with. I played D2 for a long time and I still think it was a bloody brilliant game for its time.
The true tallent in Blizzard games is evident, you can still buy Diablo 1&2, Starcraft and Warcraft at EB. I highly doubt that many games being released today will have the staying power of Blizzard games.

Diablo III, hmm. I played Diablo II for a pretty long time and it was great and woulda been better. If only it was more complex instead of just 7 races. The game play is brilliant though and I experienced other games that copied Diablo much, such as MU-Online.
