Being more of a sandbox and a little bit of a RP-fan the first time playing Rift after it released was mediocre. I thought dynamic events were kind of blah, and everything else was just run of the mill and I didnt like having 3 or 4 classes together.
I decided to try it again just because I heard they are coming out with housing and Im a player housing fan.
With the addition of survival and fishing the game, IMO, is a little more RP or character-player friendly. You can cook and eat animals you kill or fish you catch. Thumbs up for the first person camera and the ability to turn player names(incl your own) on and off. Its a shame that some AAA games leave immersion tools such as first person view out these days.
Last night after cooking my fish and eating some. I emoted the /sleep command on the dock and logged out. Thanks Trion.

Nice. Be sure to get your survival up so you can make tents and sleeping bags. Also there are a couple different campfires you can pick up through various events, collections, and factions.
I don't know if I should trust you... your post count is 666 oO!
On a serious note though, yeah Rift is making changes and heading in a direction that has me a bit tempted to go back and check it out. Not quite there yet, but it's getting there.
I hope the game continues to do well, we need lots of mmo competition out there.
Myself, I tried it in beta, and it felt like WoW/Warhammer lite. The characters movement was so stiff looking and the mount animations were sooooo slow, felt like I was moving through molasses with a turtle. I just couldn't ever get into the game no matter how hard I tried to like it.
What happens when you log off your characters????.....
