Here is why.
I played this game way back as FDC I quit because it got boring did check out some other factions.
(FDC) was disbanned a real killer of the game from what I hear.
Recently I returned to FOM played LED for about 72 hours, and I had not really any problems at all until the GM's or whomever assigned R +7 commanders to our faction.
This is when the problems began.
1. They demand people come to X location to fight.
2. Then they tell me I can't wear my cash shop clothing eventhough my character can fully be shown that it is a LED because its all in blue except for like the legs on my character and start drama.
Our R7 leader who is a failure does nothing but Swear, other leaders cuss including the words against religion so to speak in foul language.
So I reported it to a GM, and the GM says this.

Faction Leaders are within their right to dictate any form of uniform policy. This often has far reaching benefits, particularly in combat. If you do not with to be tied to such strict standards, I recommend you try another faction.
Furthermore, if you are offended by the language of other players, you can enable the swear filter by accessing Setting->Interface and checking the box. Whilst this remains a Teen rated game, online interactions with other players remain unrated like every other online games.

On reviewing the TOU, and TOS, the game is rated Teen, and they allow minors to play the game therefore they are expsoing teens under the age of 18 to Adult content including language that involves very adult nature especially if a 13 year old was playing this game with parental consent.

This goes to show how much the GM's actually care besides messing up by removing the FDC they do not care at all.
I know people swear sometimes, and sometimes it happens with all of us, however I remember when I said the 4 letter word in World OF Warcraft just one time I got a warning from a GM because of it.
This game isn't worth playing, and if you actually do decide to play this game and are not looking for strict rules Avoid LED at all costs let them as a faction die out and have as much problems as possible until new command shows up with actual brains who is worth commanding the LED.
GM's in games like this should actually take action against leaders and not allow this. They want to make money off their cash shop, but are not willing to make a simple rule that states they can't have restrictions on people telling people how they can and can't play their characters with any cash shop items.
While I strongly agree that common sense should be used and if my character could not be told from a distance that I was a LED before I changed faction then I would understand however this was not the case and was clear abuse of Sean, and the other ranking officers who recently got put in charge of this game.
However since foul language is tolerated maybe I will just use that to my advantage.
Either way FOM is dead it is not worth playing especially in the state that the game is in, however if you do decide to play, join BrotherHood OF Shadows, or another faction not LED.
And a warning to parents, do not let your kids play this game due to the explicit language and the fact that GM's, and the game company allows it and god knows what your child could be saying after they have an experience like this in a game like this. This game also supports voice chat where I have witnessed people talk about some serious real life things I can't even discuss here. This is how bad it is, me I am mature enough but if someone is under 18 especially a young age I do not think they should hear it.

The thread content doesn't match your title.
I'm a little confused how swearing and RPing have anything to do with the game being dead. In fact, it came across very much like the opposite of your title.
And I apologize, but your complaint just seems incredibly rediculous.
Online interaction not rated. The only thing rated teen is the developer coded content. You can't rate player interaction. That's why they put chat filters in the game. If they don't want you to curse, then they would't make it optional to turn on. You're being overly sensetive.
If I remember right Blizzard, and Final Fantasy XI have the same thing but they actually do something about people who swear if it is reported sometimes even if it isn't.
Also this game should be made 18+ in this case that they are going to allow it.
The game is dead because of ignorant leaders like that are currently on LED trying to lead it and failing at doing so most likely even at the time I had left and not palyed the game for months, as I have shown and said.
The Second Reason is because they disbanned the FDC which was areally dumb move at least from what I am being told by people.
If you don't like your faction leader, leave the faction.
If you don't like swearing, use the profanity filter.

Honestly, you should just avoid all MMOs and play solitaire in a bubble by yourself at this rate of self inflicted drama.
Also, the players you find yourself having problems with, do not control the game, they were/are leading officers of a certain faction, which has its own rules inside of the game.
