Just wanted to point out that the 5 of the 8 North American gigantor-enormous Mega servers are FULL.
I guess undocumented super-high tech upgrades just aren't what they used to be.

I think that they going to be adjusting the cap as they go. Just as they did before... it's a smart move on their part...imo

That's a pretty funny line, kudos.
But if you do recall, after the second round of server merges (after GW2 came out) Bioware out o the blue proclaimed that they now had Mega-Servers in anticipation of FTP. This seemed a dubious attempt to campflauge their hemorrhaging subs. Last EA confrence call, EA declined to state how many subs they had. On day one of the FTP launch, the new Mega-Servers filled up instantly.
Guess what, they're just normal servers with a slightly raised cap.
thanks god i play on eu servers ))))
EU were same. all PvP full, with French and German on very heavy.

What is, making people wait for hours in queue until they arbitrarily decide to magically raise cap?
They screwed up once on that same thing already (at launch), except now theres no other server to go to (since its only 1 sever/type)
Oh, and servers were super laggy also. Wonder how it will be if they further raise the cap.
EU servers were okish, Tatooine was desert as usual (that's where I am atm, haven't gone past that yet - started playing last week as I found the full game for less than 9eur), but I experienced some lag spikes.
I was surprised to see queues (that I jumped) but after all: by the time f2p'ers leave balmorra (and whatever the republic equivalent is), they'll have to start buying quickbars -> whine -> quit.
I'd say that by monday, everything will be back to normal. If not monday.. give it a full week.
From what i saw, most of people are fromer subscribers, starting areas werent that much packed.
Yah, when they see restrictions (considering they already done story and have to pay for everything in endgame) yah, give it a week or two and everything will be back to normal
If they can increase capacity (without adding servers etc.) then I don't see it as a smart move. When everyone is a subscriber they you already have the money but in a F2P game things are different.
OK it could be an attempt to get people to subscribe and avoid the queues but usually a F2P game want people in-game because that is the only way they will spend money.
Opening more servers at launch was the screw up....... It is fine where it is atm.

I wouldn't consider pointing out an untruth bitching, but whatever floats your boat.
*edit speling
Server are empty...servers are dying..game is failing
Servers are full..... why are they so full? BW fail... and so on.
Saying a server consolidation isn't actually a server consolidation because you are implementing unfillable Mega-Servers in anticipation of FTP and then having those "Mega-Servers" fill to capacity hours into the FTP launch is a double fail. Parse it however you want though.
Unfillable mega-servers? I don't recall reading anything about that. As far as I know unfillable isn't even possible.
yup some people will never get happy even if you give them your own money and life even
"Daniel Erickson, replied to a question about the group finder and whether or not it will support cross-server searching at launch. Daniel replied stating, “They will not be cross-server as we are coming up on a huge move to servers with massively higher population caps than we have today.”"
"BioWare have commenced testing on the first of their new megaservers: a single server that contains literally every player on the U.S. East Coast. The new megaservers are designed to increase population density, with the eventual aim of retiring the individual servers that make up the current East Coast player base."
"In order to provide a better overall gameplay experience we’re getting ready to introduce new high population server tech that will allow us to significantly increase current server populations."
Mike B. discussing "Mega-Servers" in May: http://www.mmorpg.com/gamelist.cfm/game/367/feature/6437/Will-TOR-Adopt-Mega-Servers.html
"Following the success of the Free Character Transfer Program, and after closely monitoring server populations, we have now taken the next step in our on-going server population balancing process. We have upgraded destination servers in order to support a significantly higher number of players. As of tomorrow, all characters on origin servers will be automatically moved onto the upgraded high population destination servers."

That was my point. *Slams Head On Desk*
When you reduce your servers down to 20 and say, "No worries, they are Mega-Servers. What's more we expect millions of FTP accounts" Yes, *Slam Head On Desk*
They are not Mega-Servers. They don't have to be because they don't expect millions of new FTP accounts. In fact they purposively created a FTP system so restrictive it guaranteed they wouldn't get many new FTP accounts.
Why wouldn't they want a LOTRO influx of new players, because those new players would demand new content FTP or not.
Better to fend of new FTP accounts with horrendus restrictions and add a cash shop to milk the remaining subscriber die-hards who won't demand new content at any industry comparable rate.
Why spend millions in creating new content when there are a few who will spend hundreds of dollars on reskinned gear and vanity items?
I still think you're in the wrong forum. It's not a first person game and it's also not sh**ty.
I hope you have a good weekend as well!
This. That's how I see it at least from most on these forums.
If the game was first person you might've had something there.
