Romance of the Three Kingdoms PS2 Multiplayer?

I know that some of the ROTK PS2 games have multiplayer (2 people sitting on couch together, not via internet) and some are strictly single player only.  Does anyone have much experience with the multiplayer games?  Which ones are better for 2-player game play?  I'm looking to play it more as an RPG (being a ronin going around doing missions, maybe enlisting under a ruler and carrying out orders, but ideally not being an actual ruler).  Any advice?  Thanks.
