I'm just begining to believe that I will never find a good mmo to play again. Ever since the good old days of playing WoW, there just hasn't been a game that gave me the same joy and excitement.
I miss the old raids and running around killing people in world pvp between the 15-30 min queue times for Bg's back in the day. I literally tried most popular(and obscure ones) mmo's out there today. Lets face it, WoW just isn't the same anymore with all the changes that have come over the years. I thought I had something with SWTOR, but its not that great overall and it has a lot of preformance issues aswell. LoTR was fun for a bit, but the lack of pvp in it just makes the game boring after 50 levels of PVE. Ya I know there is some pvp in the game, but it's not what I wanted.
I really don't enjoy any console games, only game that isn't an MMO that I have had fun on lately is Heroes of Newerth.
Ever since the major introduction of item mall games and F2P games, MMO's just have not been the same. Idk if this is directly related to the release of these kinds of games or not, but it's just been different. I had no problem paying the $15 a month for WoW, EVE, or even LoTRO if I was enjoying the time spent on the game. Hell I was spending $30 a month for MMO's at one point.
Anyway, not trying to make this post too long, but was wondering if anyone else is in the same boat. That boat being that you only enjoy playing MMO's and you can't find one to play that really gets you excited when you think about logging online.

You're just the latest graduate into the Veterans of Old MMOs society. Meetings are held every Tuesday at the used computer parts store down the block. Once a month there's a pot luck dinner. We'll let you know when we think you're ready for that.
When you marry a game and stay in love with it, it's hard to move on.
It's really not the games that are getting worse. It's the bagage people bring to them. New gamers " love " these mmos as much as we loved our first ones.
The last MMORPG that I really got involved with, where I really wanted to play it was AOC. Unfortunately it had nothing to do with the massively multiplayer aspect of the game, but rather the Tortage storyline and environment. Easily the best SP experience I've had since Half-Life. However after Tortage was finished, I found myself wandering from quest to quest getting more bored as time went on.
So yeah. If there's magic (immersive gameworld with gameplay that makes me want to get back into the game) around, I'm not finding it either.
