Possible Abuse OF Mods incomming.

So I was reading a bunch of random chat earlier in game and I saw this.

I also found out that MODS are not GM's they are just hired people given mute rights like you and me and they can abuse now I think this is just retarted.

That's pretty much the same with most game forums, mods are rarely GM's but that's nto to say GM's cannot mod. The possibility for abuse being there doesn't mean anything as it's there for every single site on the web.

Worst thing they can do to you is mute you temporarily. Also there is no way they will mute you just for lolz. IF you're one of those annoying people who just complain in general chat and pretty much annoy everyone in the game, then you would probably get "silenced" so to speak :D

Also I can't talk about how this works in PoE but in most other games/forums you can escalate your concerns to a GM if you think you have been unjustly moderated.

Mission in life: Vanquish all MMORPG.com trolls - especially TESO, WOW and GW2 trolls.

If they can only temp mute its not a problem however I believe this will become a problem in the future and possibly ruin the game abusive moderators.

    1. There is no reason why the game client/server doesnt have anti spam built in already.

    2. There is no reason there isnt a way to turn off chat features, or make private channels.

    3. I bet mods can set Mute in mutes like /mute "Player Name" 60 minutes or 9999999 minutes. I know some mods who used to do this in games like this and ruined it for no good reason at all. ( This is what scares me.)

I know its F2P but why should I put a money into a game with mods actively monitoring a game chat I can understand if a person was making violent threats,  or harassing others, or spamming step in, but other things are just  in my eyes very stupid, and I feel the mod abuse is likely going to come.

Although there isn't really anything they can do as this is the internet you get banned or muted you can just use a VPN/Proxy as many times as you wish, but still it ruins the legit players if the abuse comes to this game too.

And thinking big brother is watching me makes me feel well uneasy );.

Its not like EVE Online, or WOW its like they are always talking watching imagine if it were like that in EVE or WOW.

X person muted X minutes in chat when they get muted.

They're not hired people in most cases, they're just normal players. Charan is a diamond supporter, i.e. he's paying GGG, not the other way around. There's no way an indie company would have the resources to actually hire people to watch chat 24/7 so I'm not bothered - as long as there aren't any actual incidents of abuse.
