stunned anyone would actually believe half the stuff in this thread considering 90% of the links leading to "proof" are broken or not even proof at all... all I see are people pissing into the wind with years old broken hearsay......

I've spent some time looking at what I can in this string (many posts are broken though sadly enough) and it's really quite disturbing what's going on.
So I will add my blood to the ritual to make sure this string LIVES!
It's amazing how quickly the MMORPG community seems to forget after Developers walk all over them. They just lay right back down under the boots of the next one.
I just read this whole thread at one shot.... all I have to say is wow.......
This brings about one lesson to all developers and costumers.
Little startup game companies should NEVER attempt to make an MMO.
The days of EQ when MMO games were just networking nightmares is over. Developers have to do so much to make a polished MMO game. It just cost way too much money.
Unless your company is making something simple like Maple Story or Dungeon Runner, stay the hell away from massive multiplayer games.
Yeah see, the problem is not "small company"... The problem is organize scam artists posing to be a small company creating an MMO... Or security products, mortgage services, and many more scams.
There is nothing wrong with small indipendiant games... There is everything wrong with EVERY ONE of the senior people involved with this product.

Who ressurected what? I'm not sure if you've noticed but this thread has been active since its conception. In part because the core issues that made the thread essential in the first place still exist today... Did you read the post above yours orrrr?

Is there a point to keep bumping such an old thread? I am sure everyone has heard of mourning by now and knows to avoid the game and the company that made it, those who play games and have not heard of them probably dont visit gaming forums very often anyway.
Maybe they should make a sticky on this site and list all of the games/companies with terrible reputations/suspect business practices so threads like this do not need to keep being bumped to ward people off.
That would be a nice thing to have. Unfotunately, if mmorpg.com were to do that, they then have to put up with legalities and frivolous lawsuits for things like libel, hurting their business, etc., whereas we as individual posters do not face such limitations. A website such as this one has to retain subjective neutrality as much as possible when dealing with the image of a company/corporation.
By providing a space for our opinions, but not formally standing behind us in those opinions, mmorpg.com is able to protect itself AND provide the information at the same time.

To answer the OP's question, I did not do most of this research Tunabun actually spent an uncanny amount of time researching our friend here. We intended to post a 3 page article that was to run on mmosite.com but we never finished it. There was just so many twists and turns, so much information, we got burnt out. Especially when we ended up with a 19 page report!

After a 3 year lifetime on MMORPG.com, this thread has a lot of history and a lot of information. That being said, the most recent posts have been veering way off topic and into realms unneccesary for this forum- because of that we're going ahead and locking, but not deleting, this thread.
