Much better than gw2s WvW because it has actual rivalry, the no names and server shuffle really bugs me.
Better than war because 3 sides
Better than aion because its not a raid grinding game.
compairing two diffrent gameplay and saying one is better.
I did the unthinkable and took some friends up on "Going Back to WoW"...but not strictly for the PvP. Yeah, I'll hop into some BGs, but it's not my sole purpose. For PvP action, I'm playing Chivalry (deathmatches) and TF2. Good, solid, limb-an-head hacking PvP in one, and good, solid burning/blowing up in the other.
How? WvW and ps2 are both doing 3 sided persistent pvp (well sorta persistent with gw2) with base capture.
Just because one game has a fps control scheme and the other a semi tab target control scheme doesn't mean they are different genres. Both WvW and ps2 are rvr games.
If we are talking non mmos. War of the roses is good, it has a live balance, less arcadey than chivalry, bit less noodling than mount and blade. (although I've had fun with all 3, and I hope camelot unchained copies ideas from their combat)

if one is RPG and the other is FPS then they are diffrent genres.
other wise make a red alert with WvW and it will be like DAOC or PS2 or GW2 (that is how u said it)
I have a feeling MMOs with good PvP don't exist right now.
You'd be right in that imo. There's nothing too promising on the horizon either, I'm afraid. GW2 was a bit of a let down, and they haven't announced any significant updates to their PvP (structured).
I'm keeping my eye on ESO, but I don't really have any expectations. Playing War Thunder in its beta.

Rafa If you JUST play WvW and don't do any pve, which frankly for a pvper is best way to play gw2. The game has more in common with planetside than it does say wow or eve.

look mate you right i finaly got your post but as you can see in the link, i got tired from the post trying to bash games in genneral
Been Playing GW2 since head start and really enjoy it. The Paid Tournaments are very fun and competitive. Experience is everything in GW2, making it The best PvP IMO.
Playing a lot of WoW on the Emerald Dream (RP-PVP) server. The amount of world PvP happening on this server each day is amazing.
It may not be the best PvP game on the market but there are lots of players and a bunch of fun options in terms of PvP (BG's, Arena's, Pet Battles, etc).
I mostly play Mount and Blade and Total War: Shogun 2. There really isn't an MMo I can talk about here I dabble in for PVP right now. I like AOW I just don't have time for it right now.

While I think eve is the best current mmo for pvp, one problem is you won't be pvping straight away, it takes a few months work. But... once you've got yourself specialised for a specific role and made some good contacts, modern mmos just can't touch it.
Really all the great pvp mmos are 9+ years old - eve, daoc, planetside, uo, lineage2 etc.. It's pretty shocking when the "bad" warhammer is probably the 3rd or 4th best post wow (incld wow itself) mmo for pvp after ps2, the closed darkfall and the sadly underpopulated perpetuum.
None. There are no real pvp mmo's left, in fact there are no real mmo's left. I say that matter of factly because it is a fact, the dribble that currently exists as mmo's are nothing but watered down soulless multiplayer games made to sell you virtual items or milk you dry with rediculously priced subs. Back in the day it was worth paying these subs for the deep immersive virtual worlds you got to explore, now you may as well play a singleplayer or co op rpg. What happened to the music industry has now happened to mmos, it was inevitable.

The only other current mmos I would consider are eve and the aow / aa / TESO betas.

No MMORPGs worth playing for PVP at the moment..
AV have totally messed up darkfall so i dont even have that to look forward to anymore..
As for no MMOs...
I playing a shit ton of world of tanks at the moment.. just love blowing tanks up LOL..
Also playing some POE.

Currently Playing: ESO and FFXIV
Have played: You name it
If you mention rose tinted glasses, you better be referring to Mitch Hedberg.
Bypass MMO PvP issues and play PS2. PS2 is not really a MMO and thats why it does not have MMO PvP issues.
You do have the problem with two of the factions looking like reject Rebels from the old Star Wars films, but that why you play Vanu.
Tera atm.
Because the combat is so .. unique.
Like a incanation btw. Mortal Combat, WoW and PWI.
