OK Should i buy GW Yes or No

Alrite so basically ive been looking desperately for a MMORPG to play.  Anything really thats an RPG online.  Ive looked and looked played free trials of everything.  Unfortunately,  the whole subscription fee thing has held me back from buying several games.  So along comes Guild Wars and I get all excited about it.  I'm telling all my friends about it desperate to start a guild or something of that nature.  So basically Im here about 2 weeks before release. I want the bottom line, should i buy it or not?

Since it exactly fits the description of the type of game you're looking for, the answer is yes.

I think the makers from guild wars are liers, because they say u don't have to pay but every 6 months or so they are releasing a new part of the story that continuous from the previous one.And there for u have to pay.

Wow, lots of these threads. This site and others like it are here to help you make decisions on whether or not a game is any good with respect. So take a look around and get tehe jist of what is good and whats not, asking around only helps to a point since different people like different games.

Yes expansions will be released now & then. You dont need expansions to continue to play the game.
GW is not really a mmorpg (company changed it not to long ago), just a 3d-chat instead of Diablo2´s line. chat.

(Othervise Gunbound/CS/any multiplayer game would be a mmorpg as long as a mutual chat is present).

if you go to the guildwars home page's FAQ, it says you don't need to purchase other chapters of the game to stay competitive. The other chapters will just allow fans to experience more of the game, such as more races, classes, and maps

Actually one of my biggest problems with gw is the lack of races and proffessions.  After looking extensively through the site, correct me if im wrong, it seems to me that there is only one race and about 5 proffessions.  To me thats a real low point compared to say DAOC where there are tons of races and classes.

No monthly fee. Kind of looks like an expanded Diablo II++, but with a hard focus on PvP. I'm definitely picking this one up.

There are 6 professions (Warrior, Ranger, Monk, Elementalist, Mesmerer, Necromancer). But each character has a main and subclass, so that's 6^6-6=30 combinations. And with in each class you have to decide how to specialize. You could make a pet focused Necromancer/Ranger or you could make a shadow knight focused Necromancer/Warrior and the game play would be completely different.

And then you have to plan differently in PvP and PvE. Like I have a Pet Nec/Ranger that dominates in PvE, but in small scale PvP that character isn't very good, because they need dead bodies to control. But you get unlimited respec points with XP so you have room to change. I could change that character to be vampire/curse/archery based for PvP if I wanted too. It would just take some XP and proper equipment.

i think with the expansions every 6 months or so.. it will get close to paying a monthly fee.. only difference is you can chose not to buy them.. but then you will not have all the great improvements and the next part of the story ::::04::

If you really want this game, go ahead buy it! If you think that this is really your cup of tea, you wont regret it and for sure your having fun playing that game..And aside from that you wll have a positive outlook for the game you choose if you really like that game. And yes, I must agree that GW is also great..so good choice huhimage
